USA debit card, Post Office credit card or Supercard by Travelex?

I'm wondering what would be the best way of paying when on holiday in the USA.
I have opened an account in the US to pay for the DVC fees, so I also have a US debit card. I can transfer money to that account using a service like Transferwise. Not much, but they charge some fees, for example to transfer £1000 the fee is £4,98. Net balance after the transfer would be (as of today): $1.424,67

A second option would be to get the Post Office credit card which doesn't charge commissions and is often suggested on the DIS.

Third option: the Supercard by Travelex. I just got an email that it's now available to everyone after a pilot period. Again, they don't charge commisions and you load it on a UK credit card (this could allow me to get some extra Avios out of the other CC).

I guess it all comes down to which rate the two credit cards use to convert the expenses. Where can I check this?

Halifax Clarity card is the one we use, the best rate and no charges.

We use a mix.

I have some spends in our US bank account which I add when the rate is better and we draw cash from here as no extra fees.

We then use a fee free PO credit card as well.

Works for us!

Hi

This card looks good its a cash card with good exchange and rate https://revolut.com and the daily exchange rates for all Mastercards are here https://www.mastercard.com/global/currencyconversion/ (revolt, Halifax and PO)

Regards

Paul

The Revolut Card is good, had no issues with it, even when I lost one card, I could cancel with the app and switch to the backup card instantly!

I've ordered a Supercard from Travelex as this doesnt need topping up, and links directly to the Bank Account or credit card, and transactions are made in GBP. Will see how that works out.

I know lots of people say about the Clarity Card or PO card, and yeah they good, but having available credit tied up on that card for a trip once or twice a year isnt always ideal for the credit rating!

Another one with the clarity card. Really reliable. had it for 4 years now and never an issue
