US will end Covid-19 testing requirement for air travelers entering the country

ANY airline flying into Canada (what matters is the destination not the airline).

Canada dropped the testing requirement a while ago. You do need to be fully vaccinated as a visitor (with some exceptions)
Does Canada only require masks for public transportation? Are they required in Canada Place? Not required in other public spaces, correct?

Oh wow, that's awesome! - I have an upcoming trip to Toronto soon.
Thank you SirDuff.

They're required on federally controlled transportation. So flights, trains, long-distance buses, and their terminals.

Otherwise, mandates are provincial, or sometimes local. Most provinces have dropped most mask requirements outside of health care, long-term care, and sometimes public transit.

BC was never as "mask-happy" as some of the more eastern provinces, and dropped their mandates sooner, so you probably won't run into it much in Vancouver. See https://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/covid-19/info/restrictions

The only place I have encountered where masks are required in Vancouver is the theatre. They do have masks available at the door or you forgot.

Germany still has masks on planes and public transport until end of September.. May also be a few other european countries.. But it's limited only to transport.

Italy and Spain, for sure. I checked yesterday. Italy's mandate is set to expire next week though. 🤞

Ugh too late for me. We cancelled our Disney Alaska cruise this summer and rebooked on another line that sails out of seattle that is now in 50% penalty, so can’t go back now. So annoyed with the stupid US govt for waiting so long.

I can guarentee they wont be the first.. But once one does, the rest will follow.
I could be wrong but I thought this was a decision made by the CDC for providing the ability to sail and they have lowered their threshold of vaccinated. I don't care either way as I'm boosted but at this point I'm resigned to the point that unless I live as a hermit (which I don't) I will get COVID at some point.

We are booked for the July 18 Alaska. Cancelled twice already. We live in a farm area, have been super careful and isolated. Have worn and still wear masks from the start and socially distance. We just learned this morning that we both are positive For C*vid. After two years of hand washing, mask wearing and not seeing family or friends. Well now at least we get a 90 day positive exemption. And we’re 4x vaccinated.

This is fantastic news for our upcoming US trips. Last March when we went to the States it was extremely stressful the couple weeks before. I was so worried we would test positive and everything would be canceled. I even pulled my DDs out of school for the week before we left.

If DCL would get rid of testing before our January cruise, that would be icing on the cake!

This is such a huge relief. I'm going on the Aug. 1 Alaska sailing and staying in Vancouver for a few extra days on the back end, and trying to figure out how/when/where to test to get back into the US was definitely causing some stress. Now I can just enjoy those extra vacation days (and mentally prepare for a flight home that leaves at 2am ET).
