US will end Covid-19 testing requirement for air travelers entering the country

I just saw this on my news updates. This is really good news as I fly to California from Europe soon. It is also really good news for all those Europeans who live and work in America and who have been putting off visiting family in Europe due to the risk of not being able to return due to a positive Covid test.

As a pilot, this is honestly the best news ever!!! I haven’t taken my 2 year old out the country because I didn’t want to test him every time! I am so excited to get back to travel!!!
And I think masks are gone pretty much everywhere except Canada, right?

Great news. This didn’t affect us for cruising since we’re flying home to Canada from Europe but we leave for a US trip in a week and a half.

I just fear that as more places do not require testing - testsfor cruising will be become a rare and expensive commodity. Up until now most testing sites and also telehealth was driven by air traffic demand. Cruising is still a small number compared. I am seriously worried about my future cruises. Stress of testing pre-cruise in time on my own or paying a fortune at port and that stress.

I haven't done an adults-must-test cruise yet, but I'll say the mail-in test for unvaccinated-under-5s is super convenient. It's expensive, but it's a very easy home swab and drop it off at UPS.

Good news .. happy for those with international flights! Today would have been the start of our Greek isles cruise, but we bailed 6 mths ago due to the testing regs then...to get to Italy, get on ship, and to get home. Oh well...at least our alternate plans start next week--vero beach, western Fantasy, bay lake tower, and boardwalk.

Hoping to do a Norway cruise next summer... hopefully testing will completely be a thing of the past by then.

I just read that. SO happy!!!!! I don't think it's really helping. And having read about people who tested positive after their Disney cruise, either is the pre-Cruise testing.
