Talk to your union...your board is wrong and using bully tactics. As per our government guidelines, if you are double Vaxxed and are not asked to quarantine when you return, you can legally say you never left the country for any covid related questioning.

In fact, for our daily screening the one section recently changed to something like "have you been out of the country AND asked to quarantine upon return".

Now, if you are forced to quarantine, you could be screwed. But if you did, I wonder if you actually would ever need to tell your board that you left the country; could it not be assumed you contracted it near home?

City public health guidelines rule oven the federal ones. It’s all crazy but that’s where the confusion might be coming from. Even if federal guidelines say you don’t need to quarantine, our city public health says we have to if we work with kids.

I am considering traveling and not telling my work. I am fully vaccinated and would take a Covid test before returning to work. Not fair people get to travel and those working with kids have to take 2 weeks unpaid quarantine

I wonder if this is every board. We are Niagara and my daughter got no direction about it either way . But she’s contract and not union. She’s working in a high school as well but students and staff are all able to be vaccinated .
She also hasn’t asked anyone fwiw so maybe there is some direction that she’s not aware of.

Where I work it's the same. If you travel outside of Canada you have to quarantine for 2 weeks even if you are vaccinated.

Going back to the talk of a 3rd shot so I can travel, I refuse as I got vaccinated to protect me and my family. I do like to travel, but I'm not getting another shot so I can visit The Mouse or go on a cruise. Add in all the testing required still even if you are vaccinated no thanks. I will wait til the testing requirements go away.

While I waffle back and forth on this issue, I think this is where my heart resides. I’m comfortable in the efficacy of my vaccine status. Frustrated by the bureaucracy, but ultimately unwilling to dose myself a third time for no good reason. I’ve put this to rest in my mind. I’m staying put until government works this out.

I’m pretty sure this is where I land too but I’m so disappointed and frustrated with the whole thing. Like I mentioned earlier in the thread, it’s just more waiting and uncertainty when the last year and a half has been waiting and uncertainty. It’s not so much the destination as it is wanting answers and the ability to make plans again. It’s nothing different and I’ll be fine .. just harder some days than others .

Count me in as another "don't really feel I need the third shot for travel." What we DO need is for the US to recognize our perfectly valid fully vaccinated status.

This is what I have decided to do to get through the disappointment of not being able to travel.

I am taking all the money I would have spent on trip and putting that towards something else I have wanted but have been putting off doing. In my case, I am decorating the house, contemplating adding on a sunroom to the house and will be getting my dream puppy. Focussing on those things that bring pleasure to my life helps to distract from the disappointment of what we can't to during Covid.

So I travelling home today from Orlando and enquired about getting a third shot. They said I'm eligible and to just give them the date I got my pfizer shot. Ultimately I decided not to do it 1. Because I am hopeful the issue will be resolved by the next time I travel and 2. Because I didn't want to risk not feeling well halfway through our flight and then have to deal with the nightmare that is toronto airport customs and another hour long drive home.

Yes there is a space near the universal store in the airport for the vaccines and an area to wait for 15 minutes. I had my Pfizer shot on June 16
