US holiday / celebration dates

In response to a few queries about US holidays and celebration days, I've found the following list which I'll add to the FAQ thread at the top of the page

January 1st – New Year’s Day

January, third Monday – Martin Luther King Day

February, third Monday - President’s Day

March / April, variable dates - Easter

May, fourth Monday – Memorial Day

July 4th – Independence Day

September, first Monday – Labor Day

October, second Monday – Columbus Day

November 11th – Veterans Day

November, fourth Thursday – Thanksgiving Day

December 25th – Christmas Day
