Us, Food, Drink, Friends, and Sledge (Hijack update Disney and Napa Rose 12/16)

actually it might be better for me to wait until the events are released if I'm booking weekends, but if everybody wants to do PFTS on Oct. 9 that can be arranged - that way I would know I can have at least one weekend at the Beach Club (it might be full by July.)

Got on the horn to DVC and booked October 7-11 at BCV so it looks like I will be at PFTS on the 9th anyway. (I probably won't spring for the wine view room though - I had plenty of booze without the extra $75 and besides unless I sign up with somebody they will put me at a table for one and what fun is that - but I can rattle the bars on the fence)
 
Hey! We will be at the Festival the 30th of Sept to the 10th so we will have some over lap time and maybe we can do a PFTS but if not drinks or booths or something!!!!:banana:

I really miss the Ditch too -- I have talked it up so much to my friends they think I'm crazy. I'm going to end up with tequila and margarita mixers for holiday gifts this year :rotfl: Which is not necessarily a bad thing -- it's just I don't think I could ever duplicate the Ditch's margarita yumminess:worship:

Well, we may have a DISmeet in the making again. My tentative dates are 9/25-10/3. I have a DIS friend who is running in the inaugural Food & Wine Marathon on the 2nd and we plan to be at the Party afterward in Epcot that night.

That would be more likely my dates due to the typical work restrictions for my vacation time. More like Oct 9-17 for me, though.

I'm booked at Kidani right now but plan on calling right at 7 months and switching to Beach Club or Boardwalk if available, otherwise I will wait list. I've never stayed at either of those resorts and I figured F&W would be the perfect time so I hope I can get in.

I own BCV, so I'm able to book it now (I bought it for that reason), but if I wait until July for the other weekends, I'm probably going to be out at Kidani myself (actually hoping for Old Key West, it's bigger and closer). So this will be my stroll over to Epcot weekend for sure.

Only problem I anticipate is that I'm flying on Columbus Day but I can get started looking for flights early.

After a few booths this day was our La Crema Pinot Class. They had three Pinots - all good and of course the one I liked was only through the wine club!

We liked this and think it's the best Empanada they have done at the festival so far!

This tasted like a 50/50 bar - I don't like 50/50 bars :headache: But It had sugar and Jason loved it!

These were ham fish stick with thousand island dressing! :lmao: They were not my favorite thing but also not horrible!

We both liked this a lot! Avocado and Tuna goodness! Loved the Sesame dressing :thumbsup2:thumbsup2 two thumbs up!

As we walked by Hopes and Barley we both stood and looked at the menu! We knew we wanted to try the Festival Ale. We always seem to like it! The food has us in a quandary - The Crab Cake is always mushy, I order it and then I think why didn't we just wait for Flying Fish crispy goodness?! Jason was saying we should get it so up to the booth I go and as I am waiting I look over to see a man SPITTING A CRAB CAKE BITE BACK ON HIS PLATE?!?!?! :scared::sad2::scared1: I have a pretty good stomach but I can't handle seeing stuff like that! NEEDLESS to say - I ordered the Lobster Roll for Jason and got my beer!

The Lobster roll was better then last year - according to Jason I was still in Crab Cake hell but still not worth the 7.25 price! We also again loved the Festival Beer! I am not a huge beer drinker but did like this a lot!

Then we went back to the Ditch before heading out to try a couple more Margaritas!!!! - Hey I had to wash away the crab cake guy!:laughing:

This was the Jalapeno Margarita -Spicy and wonderful
and the Blood Orange! Sweet and tart and perfect!

On our way back to the Boardwalk to clean up and rest we saw my favorite t-shirt of the trip so I took a picture!

No milk punch tonight but I am drinking a fabulous Italian Pinot Noir ... Feudo Arancio Pinot Noir ... from Sicily.

The label claims this is an elegant wine that embodies the intensity of Sicily. I don't really know about that since I've never been there, but Fat Tony did knock on our front door after we pulled the cork -- he was looking for some collection money. :confused3
