They're OK. They frequently leave luggage behind. The baggage claim when arriving home can be a nightmare, waiting very long periods of time for your luggage to appear, and they almost never leave on time.
Other than that, they're great
Some of those problems are definitely the airline, but a lot of the problem is also PHL airport in general. I've almost always flown USAir, and I've just come to expect the annoyances. If you get a great rate, I guess it's worth it.
For our Dec. trip, I'm trying to wait out an AirTran sale or Southwest.
We used to drive from Allentown to Philly and get $79-$99 rates on USAirways and United. Now we have Allegiant which flys between Allentown and Sanford for $59. Its so wonderful, not just because of the lower fares, but flying from a small airport to a small airport eliminates every headache we ever experienced going between PHL and MCO
