Upsell rates??? UPDATE!!!!!

After 4 attempts we received and upsell offer to BWI from POR for our upcomming 8/26 - 9/5 trip. The upsell was for about 10% off the rack rate but we still have free dining. DS still has heart set on BC so we will keep trying, but I am happy wilt BWI.

I have called and called and called, sometimes 3x in one day and haven't been offered ANYTHING. What is wrong with the system. Why can't they just offer me BC/YC for the price of POFQ? That's all I want.

I've called once again this morning. I'm hoping for BWI. DD 10 really loves the pool. I even dreamed about the Keister Coaster last night.

The upsells are not a deluxe for the price of a mod, just a discount on the deluxe. I think Mousefan96 is the first person I read that got one during the free dining period, and it did not seem to be as much as some other people posted. So i am thinking because of the free dining promo they do not need to offer as many discounts to fill up rooms.

I need one for Sept 28- Oct 7. I have only seen 1 upsell for anything past August so far. Maybe it's too early. I REALLY want BC/YC or even BWI. I'll take any of those. PLEASE

I just called CRO and got Dave. Dave informed me that upsells were given at the resort and that he could in no way even check to see. So I just asked him to quote me BWI. Still no luck.

What you are doing wrong is, "asking". This is not a requested discount but something that "just" happens.

Truly it is just luck. You can keep increasing your changes of getting lucky by calling back but is very much a random thing.

Usually a guest will be wanting to book a moderate resort that is all booked and the computer will generate an offer that while more than the moderate is a discount off the deluxe resort.

when are you trying to make reservations...if it is in late august try CS they are booked up....then wait, don't let them sell you another moderate. ask them if there are any other options.

I called inquiring about moderates, saying my DH was trying to keep me to a budget (which is 100% true, since our flights are turning out to be more that I thought, so my "allowable" expenses for the trip might be more than I.....I mean we....planned.) Anyway, they were booked for the only moderate that we were looking for, CSR, since we have stayed at the other three. Anyway, that is when the upsell popped up.

I agree, I was also offered the upsell when asking to book CS. I guess they tend to be really booked there. You also have to just wait a moment and maybe check another date. Also, FYI once I did book I was able to switch resorts a day later with no problems at all.

Are they even offering upsells to someone that already has the free DDP promo on their reservation? From what I've been reading, I thought it was only being offered to people that were trying to book a MYW package where they are paying for DDP.

CS is also a convention center... they may have it booked for a convention and need to move people to other places.

Got an upsell for AKL VC today again and I again said no thanks then she said how about AKL concierge with a Savannah view? I said how much more and she said how about 210.00 less I took it . Hope I dont miss the WL to much but I sure am glad for the little bit of savings : )

He repeated twice that the reservation could not be modified or I would lose the discount. For those who have been able to change resorts, how did you go about it?

We reserved the YC for Aug 9-18 with dining and hoppers for $4287.

You don't have to tell me how much you are spending total, but where where you staying first that you got the upgrade and it is less money. I am only
interested in trying to figure out if we can even try for an upgrade. I am trying to run the numbers. Thanks for any help.

WL concierge I will miss the ol girl and the staff up there on the 7th floor . I always stay in the same room 7048 it is like home. It has 2 Queen beds and thatr is odd when it is just the DH and I but we love that room .

I hope someone here will be able to tell me a good room to ask for at AKL
