Upsell rates??? UPDATE!!!!!

Codes? I thought these were just offers the CMs gave you over the phone trying to get you to "up" your resort for little extra $$$.

You are right, it is a straight upsell, no codes. I get online to the WDW website while I call, then I can pull up what they are offering. My Saratoga Springs upsells were only less than $200 below what the online price was.

There was a code that was used by the CMs only to identify the upsell package. My package was refered to as the flex magic your way dining package.
The online price for my package was $4671.90. The price offered to me was $3054. A difference of $1617.90. I accepted.

Our family has the confimation to the Disney's Coronado Springs Resort for $134.00 per room it is a standard room. The other hotels around disney is sold out.

Okay, well I just called & was offered nothing different. :sad2: We do have the free dining though. Would this be the situation where Disney only really offers you one "discount" per package??? Has anyone gotten an upsell with free dining?:confused3

This is my question also, and are you requesting a value and being offered a mod or just requesting a mod and being offered a deluxe? :surfweb:

I don't think I've seen anyone being offered an upsell during the free DDP promo. Looks like most of the ones posted have been arrival dates in July/early August.

For me, I'd rather have the free DDP over any upsell as it is like getting a 65% discount based on having to pay the adult price for the four people occupying our room. :thumbsup2

I don't know if anyone was offered it during "free dining" period, but the upsell packages that I know of recently all included dining.

My original reservation was for June 9th-19th for 10 nights @the POFQ, 1 adult 1 child. It was room only with AAA discount.

My offer was for the BC June 23rd-July 3rd, 10 nights with dining 1 day base MYW (since we have APs) for $3054. That is $1617.90 off the website price. You can consider it a big room discount.. or you can consider it free dining with a discount off the room rate too. Does it matter? The savings can be from anywhere you want as long as it's money you're not paying! And, I will have 2-1 day MYW tickets to trade in for new APs next year too!

Good Luck to anyone trying to get an upsell!

I would be surprised if I was offered an upsell with my free dining but I thought it was worth a try. We are currently booked at a mod. Well, maybe I'll try again in a few weeks. doesn't hurt to ask!!!:wizard:

I
missed out on all the code excitement (the one day I don't log on......I'm still kicking myself!!!) Anyway, I was just offered an upsell at BWI, but really am not head over heels over BWI. I asked about BC, but the CM only offered BWI. I held it, and will talk it over w/ DH. Not sure, maybe we'll just stick with WL AAA.

You should book it and then switch to BC. I did it with no problems at all and even switched backed to BWI. Same upsell rate the whole time.:cool1:

NHBelle, that's exactly what I was planning on doing. Actually, the CM said she could hold it (and she paused at that point, like she was checking her computer) until the 25th. I figured I'd call back in a few days and see in the same thing was available at BC. Why did you switch back to the BWI? Just curious, for some reason the BWI never appealed to me (maybe its the scary clown silde!!!) but maybe I am missing something. We have never stayed at BC either, but would love to try storm-along bay, that's why I was leaning that way. We currently are booked at WL, where we stayed two years ago, and that is so far our favorite (even over the Poly!)

Why did you switch back to the BWI? Just curious

My family all liked the pics of the BWI. I switched without talking to everyone thinking it would be a great surprise and everyone was mad at me. My kids are so excited about the roller coaster pool. We also think BC may get too crowded because it seems to be everyones favorite. BWI is smaller and seems more intimate to us and appears to have more theming. I know that most people like BC better, but I really think BWI will be the best choice for us. I am not sure if we have unusual taste or were just rebels because we always seem to be in the minority with our opinions.:confused3

As DVC members we have stayed in the villas side of both these resorts. They both have positive features and truly I wouldn't have a preference since they both measure up so well. I think you'll really enjoy your stay at BWI and your great deal will make it even better!---Kathy

Thanks for the input on BWI. I called this morning and they would not let me switch resorts, so we'll have to think about it. I currently have our trip booked with AAA, for about 200 more than the BWI price, at WL, which we love. I know that BWI is more expensisve than WL, and am getting a great deal, but we are tempted to just leave the AAA WL reservation. We'll see. I wanted to pop in the planning video for everyone, but I lent it to someone at work! Decisions, decisions.....

called sunday for reservation to csr, it was full, kept asking if there was anything else as this is where i wanted to stay (not really). finally the cm found a flashing red screen....bwi@$195 a night. my moderate package went from 2531.83 to a deluxe package $2878.83----8 day passes plus park hopper and dining. thanks to all on this site for making this possible

are you getting the free dining?

I called this evening to see if I could be one of the lucky ones to be offered an upsell. I did include tickets and dining when asking for a price.

I tried to book Pop for July 25-August 1. Nothing offered.

I tried for the All Star Music Suites. Nothing offered.

I tried for a mod (I don't remember which one). Nothing offered.

I ended up putting a hold on a room at Pop. In the meantime, I contacted AAA to ask them for a quote from them. I am curious to see what the price difference may be.

Also, when I went into Disney.com to play around some more, I could no longer get a room at Pop or ASM for those dates. Perhaps I should call again tomorrow, try to book either of these places, and then perhaps I will be offered something. :confused3

Who knows? But is it all very interesting. :)

I am not sure if anyone did this but there was another thread about a special on Southwest Vacations. If you booked by May 13, they gave you 1/2 off your park tickets. Well anyway I ran the numbers and BWI came up as the hotel they would put me in for the special. When I went through the process to check on final pricing I got a red note at the bottem of the screen warning me that BWI was having roof work done that would continue through 2008. I have not read that anywhere else and I am wondering if that is why they are offering the property for a discounted rate.
