Upgrading to PAP

This board has been so helpful in the past, I was hoping someone might have an answer for me on this.

With Disney offering the free dining, I was wondering if it is possible to book a package with the free dining (I've used up all my points this year but need to get back) and then at the end of our trip upgrade to a PAP using our DVC discount?

If it were me, I'd book the MYW package with a 1 day ticket (minimum allowed) and the free dining. After I checked in, I'd take the 1 day ticket and apply it to the purchase of a PAP. (You need to go to a Guest Relations office to do the upgrade). You will get the DVC discount on the PAP assuming you qualify (have your blue membership card and a photo ID). Don't wait to do this until after you have used up the MYW ticket that comes with the package - you won't be able to upgrade if you wait.

So the answer to your question is yes (if you upgrade before your MYW ticket is used up). You might want to read the info on upgrading WDW tickets over on All Ears to be sure you understand all the "ins and outs".
