Upgrading to AP with dining plan

I know this has probably been asked a million times, but I know you guys can help me out. We're going in December for 10 days. We've purchased the dining plan and 10day MYW base tickets. We want to upgrade to APs for another trip this coming year. What is the best process for doing this? When is the best time? I'm assuming at check-in before we use the tickets? If we do it at check-in, will it affect our dining credits? Thanks in advance for your help!

No the best time is before you check OUT after you have used the tickets. YOu will get the full credit for them and your AP will be from the day you first used those tickets you had. but doing it this way will not affect your dining plan.

Thanks, that makes sense. The day that we check out we aren't going to a park. Does there need to be at least one day's admission on the ticket for them to be able to upgrade it?
