Our family is considering purchasing an AP this year, as we are going in Sept (for free dining), and are planning on going again in late Aug of 2008 or early Sept 2008, and possibly 1 more trip if we get the AP. However, Im not 100% commited as of yet!

My question is:

We are currently booked with a 7 day MYW park hopper. How do I go about upgrading this? Should I change our ressie to a 1 day base ticket (to keep free dining) and apply this to the AP? And, if I do go to the 1 day base, and we dedide to not AP, and want the 7 day hoppers, how do I find out what the cost of changing to that is??? Or if I keep the package as is, can I apply the cost of the 7 day hopper to the AP? Im so confused! :sad2:

help!!!!! I need a strategy, and want to make sure I dont decide the wrong tickets and end up paying more for it!

Thanks in advance....

We just got back and had the one day tickets to get the DDP> We decided to upgrade to the AP so we went to guest services our first day to do this. We had a terrible time.. the guy said " you can't do this.. thats cheating the system" WHAT? HE said that it was not permitted and slid my one day passes back to me. I asked to talk to a supervisor and this nasty woman came over and said the same thing! Back on the bus to our concierge we went and they got it done for us even though we had to return to GS to get the APs. I guess like almost everything not all CMs are on the same page. ANyway.. I would keep the 7 day tiks since you are not sure.. you can apply the cost of those to an AP if you decide and if you decide not to then it will be easier than switching things around.

I wonder...if you have a reservation with a package and dining for 4 people..but 2 of them want to purchase an AP...can that be done? Do you all have to have the same dining/park passes. We are considering going again with the kids(both requiring adult admission)..but want to purchase AP's for our selves as we plan an additonal trip with our travel trailer to FW.

Thanks so much for the reply. My 1st message was so jumbled, as my 1 year old kept interputing me!

In any event, one more question.... does the full cost of each MYW park hopper go towards each annual pass?

So if each adult MYW 7 day park hopper was $248 pp, and the cost of each adult AP is $434, does the full cost of the $248 get applied to the AP if we have not used any days of the 7 day hopper?

I just did all the math. With the 7 day hoppers, upgrading at the park to an AP, it would be an additonal 538 for 2 adults and 1 child. If we had the one day base tickets, it would be an additional 1060 for the same tickets. When added to our hotel package, it ends up costing $38 more TOTAL to upgrade with the 7 day hoppers (as opposed to the 1 day base ticket).

NExt question is does anyone know where I can find the cost of upgrading a one day base ticket at the gate to a 7 day park hopper? I thought you got an advance purchase discount?

Thanks
