Just double checking since they changed the APs in the past year. This is still the case?

You don't have to upgrade a WPF&M ticket to the Platinum Plus pass unless you've used one of the WPF&M entitlements prior to upgrading.

Ok, yes. That's what I was asking, it would be used. We've been to WDW a ton but never to a water park because we have annual passes and I don't want to pay for the platinum. I was hoping for a sliver of a chance that it changed when they changed the structure but as I assumed, it didn't. Thanks

While it is only a small discount after you have upgraded you can get a $4 discount on each 1 day ticket you buy. If you only want to go for 1 day it is cheaper to buy a 1 day pass then to go with the AP that allows you into the water parks.
