Upgrading Tix Prior to Trip

I bought 5-day tickets from UT and now that we're within our 60-day FP selection window for our 7 day trip, I realized that I really should have just bought 7-day tix.

Can I call Disney to upgrade the 5-day tix even though they are now linked to profiles with FP selections attached?

I don't want to lose my Anna & Elsa FPs...so I'm scared to change anything. Has anyone (1) upgraded prior to first use over the phone and (2) kept their existing FPs?

If it's not possible I guess I can just leave it as is and upgrade as late as possible during our trip. Thanks!

If you upgrade before using your tickets, you won't preserve the discount from UT. They'll essentially charge you not only for your two extra days, but also the difference between what UT paid Disney and what Disney currently charges for a 5 day ticket.

We've upgraded after being at Disney and it didn't affect our FP+s. What I did in that case was save the lowest FP+ priority days (AK and our third MK day at the end of our trip) for the days without any FP+s, and then made my FP+ selections as soon as I added the days.

Separately purchased tickets can't be upgrade by phone. You will have to wait until you arrive at WDW.

That sounds right. The bad news is you won't be able to make the extra two days of FP in advance, but the good news is that you will get to keep the UT discount.

I would book the most urgent FPs ahead of time for the first 5 days, and save the last two days of FPs for rides that aren't as urgent and that will likely still be available (most everything except the superheadliners should still be available I would think).

Thanks guys. At least good to know that I won't lose their FP selections....

We did all the major FPs and so I'll just upgrade right before our Epcot day. We don't FP Epcot anway. :rolleyes1
