I know there are lots of threads on how people will upgrade their tickets to APs and have one person get a preferred / premier pass in order to get the food / merchandise / hotel discounts.
I was curious to know if people who have done it have come out ahead.
We are going for a couple days in November and will buy our tickets through UT. I was going to upgrade them, on arrival, so that we could get AP discounts and come back next summer or fall.
We will stay on-site in a EP hotel for both trips. Will be nice to have the discount for the second trip (first one is already paid for with points), but you get that with all types of passes, as far as I can see. Or do the higher passes get better discounts?
10% or 15% in restaurants and merchandise will help. Does it work for all shops? HP wands and merchandise too?
Pretty sure we can make up the $100 difference in price on the preferred vs seasonal over 2 trips. I don't know if it will make sense to get the premier (unless we plan out our trip to include HHN in 2022), but our kids will be 6 and 9 then and it's more than likely not appropriate for them yet.
EDIT: just read recommended ages for HHN and they definitely won't be ready for it! haha
