Upgrading tickets at resort

If we buy a 2-day ticket with waterpark option at our resort on the room key, can I upgrade to 3 or more days after 2nd day is used, or do I have to do it before the ticket is used up?

My understanding is that you can upgrade at any time within 14 days of the first use.

So I would be able to upgrade to say a 5day for the price difference between the 3 and the 5?
