I read on the Palmickey.net website that:
"If you have an older Pal and would like to "trade up" to a new one, you can at this time do that at the Main Street Cinema for $40 with your trade in"

Does anyone know if you can still do this?

I have not heard of this but for $20 more why not just purchase the upgraded version and have them update the old PM when U purchase the new one? Then U would have 2

I believe they take PM and put his nose (hope it doesnt hurt) into a computer type machine and he gets upgraded on his speach.

OK as close as I can get with the lingo.

Oh and they now sell PM clothes so dont forget to purchase him a new outfit for the old Mickey.

Nope. That's faulty info.
Its been repeated so much that its now a Pal Mickey LEGEND.

The "nose-thing" is TRUE, but its not an UPDATE, its just a processor "re-boot" that resets Pal M. to his original "factory settings".

The only way to get a Pal M. with the newer "features and speech" is to buy a new model.

To the original Question:
I don't know if the trade-in offer is still valid.
If you want a "New" Pal Mickey, its worth a try.
(Although I don't think I could part with my "Classic" Pal... he's been on a lot of trips and a lot of RIDES with my DW and me!)

OK im sorry :confused3

I still would rather buy a new PM than trade in my old one. I just bought it a new outfit and shoes for our trip. :thumbsup2

He was not happy in his tux.

While were discussing pal Mickey..I have both..is one mre informative than the other? DO I need to have him rebooted each visit? Or at WEach theme park? Can they do this at the hotel? Thanks for the information.

1. ...is one more informative than the other?
A bit. The new version has info about the rides that were not completed when the "classic" Pal was designed. But its not a big deal. If you carry the new one he'll say a few more things.

2. DO I need to have him rebooted each visit? Or at WEach theme park? Can they do this at the hotel?

Under normal conditions you will NEVER need to reboot either of them.
As long as you're carrying him "out in the open" when you enter a WDW theme-park, he'll "know where he is" and start "wiggling and giggling" and talking about things in that particular park.

If at some time he does NOT talk about these things... and he has fresh batteries... then you can take him to the Pal Mickey Store on Main Street in MK ("Main Street Cinema" is on the sign out front) and have him "rebooted".
There MIGHT be another place (or places) that this can be done, but in the years I've been on these boards and at WDW, I've never heard of any.

also the newere version has more games and a lot more jokes. He's not as repetitive as the original.

Honestly, how much of a pain is he to carry around all day? If you wear him, is it awkard?

Thanks for the PAL Mickey Tips.......

I didn't find him a pain to carry at all...I just cluipped him on and went. I find it enjoyable.
