upgrading MYW ticket to annual pass on last day

I have read the ticket sticky, and I think I may have found the answer, but I wanted to double check. We have a 7-day MYW ticket which we will use on our 12/12-12/19 trip, and we are planning to upgrade to an annual pass while there as we will be returning in April. Our last park day will be 12/18, as we leave early in the morning on the 19th. If we upgrade to the annual pass on 12/18 after we have entered the park, and this is the last day we will be in any park, will the annual pass not be activated until we actually use it in April, since we didn't actually use it in a park? I'm just trying to figure out what the "anniversary" date of the annual pass will be, to maximize its value to us.

the anniversary date will be the FIRST day you used the 7 day MYW ticket. It doesn't matter when you upgrade to an AP the anniversary is still the first day you used the ticket used for the upgrade.

I recommend you upgrade early in the trip so you can take advantage of the AP discounts (in shops etc) during your trip.

Your anniversary date will be the first date that you used your MYW ticket.

If they allowed you to wait until April, they would have given you the 7 day free since they applied to the cost to the AP.

An AP's first date isn't really the first day in a park. It's the date that you activate it if you bought a voucher in advance. For most people it's the same day but if you activate it the night before to save time and don't go into a park until the next morning, the date will be the night before.
