Upgrading APs?

There were some posts a few months ago (I think it was here) where people said they were able to trade in partially used APs bought before there was a DVC discount for a Premium AP at no charge, and sometimes even with a small refund. Premium APs now cost less than regular APs did without the discount, so it seems to make sense you could do that.

I'm just wondering if CMs can still do that at all the parks, or if anyone's had good luck doing this a certain way. We've got APs that are good until November 2005, and we've got 2 trips planned during that time, it'd be fun to have a premium AP if it doesn't cost anything. :flower:

Hi,

Just got back yesterday (May 7) from a week trip. I upgraded my AP at downtown Disney with no problems and no charge.

I did mine on April 30th at the Marketplace GS. I was able to upgrade and was given a $5/pass refund. The CM kept saying that she was not suppose to do a refund, I was cool with that, but she gave it to me anyways. Was easy and somewhat painless.
