Here's the situation:

We started our AP's on 12/10, stayed on WDW property for 5 nights.
We are planning a summer '15 stay at WDW for at least a week.
We may be heading to DL in March for 4-5 nights.

Is it worth is converting our AP's to Premium just for DL?
Wouldn't it be cheaper this way instead of buying 4-5 day tickets?

No clue, please help.

Thank you:santa:

According to this link, https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/passes/premier-passport/, a Premier Passport is $1,029 (Guests age 3 and older), plus tax.

Premier Passport - $1029+tax

DL 5 Day park hopper is $305, not sure if this includes tax or not.

The information I see is that the WDW AP currently costs 634+tax. This means your balance would be $395, so a 5 day PH for DL would be cheaper.

If you purchased the Premium WDW AP at the standard price of $754 plus tax then it would be cheaper to upgrade to the Premier Pass because a 5 day Park Hopper DL ticket is $305 plus tax. (Total price would be $1059 plus tax...more than the Premier)

If you have the standard WDW AP (basic price is $634), then it would not be cheaper to get the Premier, but I think it would still be worth it. The Premier Pass counts as a Premium pass for both parks and you get all the benefits of that. At DL, that includes some really good discounts on food and merchandise. At WDW, that would add Water Parks and DQ.

If you think you might only spend a day or two at DL, then take that into consideration as well as it will widen that price gap a little.

If you bought your AP at a discounted price (DVC for example), then factor that in as I am not sure if you would get full value when bridging...someone else would have to answer that.

CA doesn't charge tax on tickets.

OP it's just a math problem.

Now, if you are big souvenir-shoppers and like to eat good meals, it's possible that upgrading one person to a Premier for the DL trip would work. The Premier gives you what is a Premium AP for both WDW and DL. At DL the discounts just for having and showing the AP are pretty good. Premium gives you a higher % of merchandise, and nearly every food venue gives a discount when you show your AP. If you think you'll make up the difference in food and souvenirs while at Disneyland, it's possible you could make it up.

But if you have a DVC AP, it's going to be very very difficult to make up the difference between that AP and the Premier, with just the one trip to Disneyland.

A DVC AP is its own type of ticket, it's not considered a discount and there is no bridging.
