Upgrading a Ticket from Parksavers/Undercover Tourist?

Hi. I would like to buy tickets from one of the discounted retailers. I read the ticket "sticky" and it looks like I need to know when the tickets were "minted" to determine how much they are worth. Is there a way to know when the tickets were minted before you buy them? When I chatted parksavers they said they are brand new tickets but that doesn't really answer the question of when they were minted. I have tickets from 2010 that are "brand new". From reading the sticky I believe that Disney will price bridge the difference is that correct (I know disney is constantly changing things!!) . Last question, does anyone know off the top of their head what the best ticket is to buy if you want to upgrade to the Gold Annual Pass? I can research it but if someone already knows that would save me some time. TIA

@Robo can help

Your 2010 tickets should be bridged to the 2017 prices (I think) because that's when they changed them the first time and put expiration dates on them? So the prices they were in 2017 before the change which I think means pre-February (I went in May 2017 and the tickets I got during the Southwest or Delta promotion in 2016 only bridged to the pre-change of that year).

That's good to know....i wasn't going to use the tickets i have because i didn't think it would be worth it...was going to buy new tickets and then bridge them but i don't know "how new" they are...if that makes sense

The majority of the time, tickets purchased are "current" or "minted" that day. It's only in the few days/couple weeks following a price change that discounters may still be selling "old stock." So if you buy tickets today from Parksavers or UT, the value is today's price on the WDW website.

As for the "brand new 2010 tickets" -- probably a better phrase to describe those is "unused" rather than "brand new." And yes, they can be upgraded, with the value of tickets from prior to Feb. 2016. See the first post of the ticket sticky for a link to those values.

Enjoy your vacation!
