Upgrading 4/3 tickets to AP - anyone done it lately?

Does anyone know if you can take the 1 day base and exchange it for a 1 day water park ticket? We will be upgrading our first week to the AP but did not want the PAP.

I believe that you can, (I read it on DIS, think it was Cheshire Figment?)
You don't get any money back but you can exchange the base ticket for a i day park ticket.

Thinking of doing the same thing but exchanging the ticket for a water park annual pass. It is about $30 more and gives us a chance to go back. Seems worth it since we will be going again in August.
