OK, so it's a Chamber of Commerce day in central Florida, we head to the boat dock from DHS, hoping to catch a ride over to Epcot, and there is the boat, just waiting for us.
It's like we stroll down the ramp, and the captain is unrolling the red carpet, bowing, welcoming us with a "We've been waiting for you, Jeff and Kara" kind of feeling. Well, in my own warped mind.
Cause once we hop on the boat and settle our butts into the oh, so comfy seats, prop my feet up on the lap of the gentleman sitting next to me, and recline into the waiting arms of the stranger to the other side, I realize that this boat was NOT waiting for us.
Because we wait. And wait. And wait. Until the boat is full.
It only makes sense - we're there at an off time of year, no sense running the boats with only a few people aboard. And I'm at Disney, so I have no complaints.
Until I watch people who are heading to the boat dock. Some of them see the boat waiting, and they run, jog, hop, cartwheel, whatever it takes to pick up the pace and get there.
Then there are those who have the uppity attitude that the boat will wait for THEM! This irks me. Not much irks me in Disney, but this is rude, and rudeness deserves an irk from Kara.
So as we wait and watch the rushers and the irkers coming to the boat, I see a sweet little old couple who are trying their darnedest to rush to the boat. But they are hobbling as fast as they can, and right when they get to the top of the ramp, the captain pulls the ropes off and with a flip of his nose, off we go.
I felt soooo bad for these folks, cause I knew that they had a 15-20 minute wait for the next boat. And here we'd waited for the irkers all this time, and this sweet little couple, trying so hard to rush and make the boat, gets left behind.
I wanted to yell out, "don't forget the old people!!!!" but I knew I'd get some eyerolls, and after all, I will be there someday too. But I didn't know the PC term for it - maybe Youth Challenged? Anywho......
We finally pulled off, much to the chagrin of my youth challenged friends back at the dock..... see? I can't let this go! It was pitiful!
20 minutes.
For anyone wondering, that's how long it takes.
No, not that!!!!
Y'all are warped! I meant the boat ride from DHS to Epcot.
We hopped out at the Beach Club/Yacht Club dock, and strolled over to the International Gateway at Epcot. We beat the boat by a mile, cause they still had to stop at BW, and leave more of the Youth Challenged stranded. I think this captain had issues..... Or am I the one with issues? It's a question I ask myself every day.....
Once in Epcot, it was time for a bit o brew.
Now if you've read any of my other TRs you know that when in UK, I tend to speak the language. After all, I'm bilingual. I can speak American AND English. Well, technically trilingual, cause I can speak Southern, too.
Ally usually gives me nice shove in the gut when I start speaking the queen's english, even though I sound more like My Fair Lady BEFORE the transformation. Jeff just walks ahead of me. FAR ahead of me.
So I head into the Rose and Crown pub to pick up some adult beverages for Jeff and I, as he takes Ally to get signed up for the Kim Possible Adventure. I go IN R&C so I can use my handy Tables in Wonderland card, and get a cool 20% off my bevvies in there.
Continued next post because Disboard decided to submit replay before I was ready..... <ahem>
