Upgrades, Underwear and Upside Down Fun -5/7 King Louie totally ROCKS!

We did KP and loved it as well! :thumbsup2 I need to do it again since we only were in Germany, Japan and UK. DH had enough by then. ;)

We're going back weekend after next and I'm already excited to do it again! I want to do different countries this time though - there is never enough villain chasing, world saving!!!!

If you have done a country previously, can you skip to the next or are the missions different each time?

Great update, Kara. We are enjoying your pictures and your report! I laughed out loud about the Tramp topiery with that "look." Frisky!

Good question - let me know when you find out the answer! :rotfl: Actually, when we go next weekend, I'll see what happens if they try to give us the same country.

But that Lady wasn't looking very ladylike either, if ya get my drift.... ;)

faboo. more, please. subbing. that is all. ;)

Short and sweet. Love it! I'll be my husband wishes I could be more like you....

You're a great writer, I'm enjoying your TR so much!

Thank you so much! I'm having fun reliving it as I write. And to think I've got to start anohter one in about 2 weeks!!!

I just read your whole report in one sitting. (Thanks for helping me avoid real work today.) You are hilarious! Seriously funny sense of humor you have there. :) I can't wait to read even more!

What am I thinking???? I need to wrap this up cause we're heading back to the World this weekend, and I'll have all new adventures to report on next week, including dinner at Boma and lunch and Rose & Crown....

But I digress. Back to the story at hand....

We decided to head out of World Showcase on to our planned dinner at Beaches n Cream. Notice I didn't say ADR. Nope, no ADRs here. Just walk in and hope to heck you're seated sometime during your trip.

Luckily, you get the handy dandy vibrating coaster so you can wander around Beach Club a bit while you're waiting.

So we left through the International Gateway and meandered along the water over to Beach Club. Ally was in awe of the pool area as we walked by - definitely the best pool in all of Disney. But we actually have a better pool here in our neighborhood with a killer water slide, so pools are not the be all/end all for us on vacation. Even so, this is a great resort! Ally said to us, "I am soooo staying here next time."

Yeah? Whose credit card ya using there, bucko?

Anywho, digressing again.....

We checked in at the podium and were told it would be about 30 minutes for a table or 15 minutes for the counter. We said first available..... and made our way to the pool bar for a few drinks.

We dangled our feet in the pool, sipping our bevvies, and tossing our heads back laughing joyously, only to realize that while we THOUGHT we looked like the cool people in the vacation promos, we were'nt even close. In fact, I think DVC might have lost some sales that day...:confused3

Before long our coaster vibrated (or is THAT why I was laughing joyously??? I'll never tell!!!!) and we were off to Beaches n Cream for dinner.

Now let me just say that this place is so not what I expected! I thought it would be HUGE! But not even close. Seriously, if you pop in and there are 5 people waiting ahead of you, expect about at least a 30minute wait. See for yourself....

That's all she wrote, folks. I didn't cut out part of the dining room. That is it!

Three booths, four tables, and maybe 12 chairs at the counter....

It was fun sitting at the counter, watching them making the ice cream concoctions. We even got to watch a kitchen sink being made - and they are not kidding - one whole can of whipped cream is used!!!

BeachesnCream2.jpg

This is the reason I could not have a burger at Sci Fi for lunch. No cheeseburger/cheeseburger for me. I had read and heard that Beaches n Cream had the best burgers in Disney. So.....

Ally and I split a burger and fries, Jeff got a burger and onion rings.

BeachesnCream3.jpg

BeachesnCream4.jpg

So, was it the best burger in Disney? I couldn't really tell a difference. Quite frankly, I'm still waiting for a great burger in Disney. I don't think they are "bad" burgers, just nothing to write home about, if I were going to write home to tattle on food. Not that I do that of course, I save it for trip reports instead... ;)

But it was good. It was a fun place for dinner, and the burgers were tasty. Just not "omg, that was the finest burger in the land" tasty.

Now, dessert on the other hand.... :cloud9:

Right off the bat, Jeff said, "I'm getting the No Way Jose."
Kara: No way Jose!
Jeff: That's what I said, I'm getting it.
Kara: But that's what I wanted.
Jeff: No way, Jose.
Kara: Yeah!
Jeff: No way, Jose.
Kara: Yes, that!
Jeff: No way!
Kara: Jose
Jeff: Mine
Kara: Fine, Ally and I will get something else.

So Ally wants more chocolate. I want caramel. We bicker. Get into a slap fight. I win. We get the Milky Way Sundae. And to this day I will not admit it, but I'm so mad I didn't just get the No Way Jose!!!

OK, here's the deal, pickle!

No Way Jose - A Peanut Butter and Hot Fudge Delight with Chocolate and Vanilla Ice Cream, Peanut Butter and Chocolate Morsels, Whipped Cream and a Cherry.

BeachesnCream5.jpg

Yeah? Let's just say, it didn't suck!

Milky Way sundae - Bundt Cake topped with three scoops of Vanilla Ice Cream, Hot Fudge, Butterscotch, Whipped Cream and a Cherry.

Eh, it was okay. But what's with the muffin in my sundae? We watched them making sundaes all through dinner and they were very muffin happy. Muffins here, muffins there - seriously, who puts muffins in sundaes? I'm still very bothered by this. I thought I could let it go, but the photos just bring it all back. Muffins in sundaes...... :sad2:

After dinner, we wandered around the boardwalk for a bit then slowly worked our way back through Epcot and called it an early night.

Up next, AK and seriously, the coolest thing we ever experience with a character!

:woohoo:

Laundry or trip report....decisions, decisions - right?

For all I've heard over the years about Beaches n' Cream, one would think they served Kobe beef on brioche jetted in from Paris! It just never seemed to me that the wait justified the eats - maybe it's the atmosphere of an old fashioned soda shop? And muffins? Hm...I do love the sweets but that looks like guaranteed sugar coma!

Looking forward to the grand finale!

love it as usual. Can't wait for the next new report. BSIL, crazy friends and Bouma....

Let me just say, Yummmmmm! We missed Beaches N Cream because we were too full this time for dessert. I've never done Beaches and Cream for a meal because it's TS on the Dining plan - for CS food?:confused3

Ok, now I want to go to Beaches N Cream. I had emailed a pic of the Kitchen Sink to my friend we are going with in July. I thought 8 of us could maybe touch it. But your Sundae's look great! Um, must show this to DH when he gets back!

Hey Kara - was just catching up and wanted to post this reply before continuing.

For Kim Possible Experience - you can pretty much request what country you want to do. After Lauren and I had done two, we would just go to the kiosk and request the country we wanted next. I think they just have to check and make sure there aren't already too many missions being done in the country you request - don't want to many "spies" stepping all over each other!;)

And another FYI - a cm told us that you could go to the same country and have the same mission, but different clues to search out.

Ok, just looked at your B&C pix. We haven't eaten there for a few years, but judging by the pic of your burger, it looks like they're really skimping. Their burgers USED to much bigger than those. (Damn economy!)

As for the best burger on Disney property? While I've never eaten there, I've seen pix on the food porn thread of burgers at The Fountain in the Dolphin that look amazing!

Yuummmmm! Note to self: Do not look at Kara's ice cream photos before lunch. I didn't realize Beaches & Cream was so teeny tiny.

:thumbsup2Yum, those ice cream pics have me drooling on my keyboard again. I'm on a low carb diet so no ice cream for me:sad2:I think I'll go squirt some whipped cream in my mouth instead.

Actually, I agree about the sundae. Muffins?!?! :confused3

Smart for you and Ally to share. :thumbsup2 I didn't, so there was no way I could have a No Way Jose. :sad2:
