Upgrade?

I am currently booked at AoA Little Mermaid and am going back and forth if I should upgrade to a suite. DH, DD 19 DS 17 and me, we are OK being in the same room but stayed in a suite a couple years back and loved the two bathrooms. What are chances of suite being available at check in for me to upgrade to? Going in June. Or is it best to do it now? I have already booked and paid for a vacation package and linked everything but my tickets.. if I decide to upgrade will I have to re-link my Disney Experience? Could I loose my dinner reservation?

That's hard to say. It will completely depend on occupancy. But if you really want to upgrade, I'd do it now.

If you booked through a Travel Agent then that Travel Agent will have to take care of upgrading your reservation to a Family Suite. When you book through a Travel Agent, or any 3rd party, you don't own the reservation until you check in. The TA has to make any changes to your reservation.

If you do decide to upgrade, once the TA does that for you your MDE should automatically reflect the new room type. No need to do anything else.

I would definitely upgrade through the travel agency now. With the ages of your children I would not think they would want to share a small bed. If you wait there may not be availability. Your ADR's will be fine

With the ages of your children I would stay in a moderate ( my fav is CSR) before I would stay in a suite at AOA. My teen daughters thought AOA was more for younger kids plus moderates are so much better than value resorts. CSR has a pool slide, nicer pool area, queen beds and shaded bus stops. If you ask for an upgrade at AOA upon checking in, you most likely will not get it for free or for a cheaper price.

AoA suites have a queen bed in the bedroom (for the parents) and two pieces of furniture that convert to full-size beds - one for each teen. The teens, sleeping individually, don't need queen beds. Or rather, the one queen they'd need to share at a moderate.

The OP likes the two bathrooms in the suites. A moderate room has one bathroom for four people.

Suites have the kitchenette, missing in the moderates

If a pool slide is important, which she doesn't indicate at all, there's always at least one water park.

Thanks everyone.... I think I will call now and upgrade, especially with the 20% off offer that is going on. I looked at the moderate but my "kids" are Disney freaks and want to be surrounded by Disney 24-7 : )

If your kids like to be surrounded by theming, they will love AofA. We haven't stayed in one of their suites (we stayed in a LM room last year) but have stayed in Family Suite at ASMu, and loved the two bathrooms and the kitchenette. You didn't say if you have meal plan, but if not it really helps being able for everyone to have breakfast in the suite. We did cereal, bagels or toast, fruit, etc. While we like the food court at AofA, it is much easier and less expensive and stress-free to eat in the suite. Especially in June when it is crowded, I would think this would be a huge plus.

LOl No I was not .. I mean yes they are a bit old for that and well to be honest may kill each other or me if I did that Lol Thanks for all the advice.. I switched to Lion King.. I wanted Nemo but it was approximately $75 more??

Yes, but they aren't nearly as nice and neither is the resort. If it's in your budget, stick to AoA. We are deluxe people but did a two night stay at AoA in October. We loved the resort and the suites are great.
