Upgrade FITS to APs?

My husband and I had the 30-day Fun in the Sun tickets (FITS) that are available to visitors from outside North America. We used these in December 2004.

It now appears as if we may be back at WDW before the year is out. I've read about people being able to upgrade tickets to APs and PAPs for the difference in price.

Does anyone know if this would be possible with our FITS tickets? I realize that if we did it, the expiry date would be one year after we first activated, which was December 2nd.

If this is allowable, how does Disney determine the credit available toward APs (we paid ca. $315 per ticket)?

I don't want to try to call because I've heard how long you can be on hold, and it would be an international long distance call for me!

The Fun in the Sun-passes are only valid within 30 days since the first day you used it. So if you aren't returning to WDW very very soon, they aren't valid anymore.
And if they aren't valid I really don't think you can change them for an annual pass.

Oh I just noticed you activated your FITS-pass at 12/02/2004.
I am sorry, that means it isn't valid anymore...

I know they are no longer valid, but I've read where people upgraded various tickets to APs or PAPs but just had to backdate them to the first activation date of the original tickets.

Is this something you know for certain we can't do?

We inquired during out last trip about upgrading our FITS passes to AP's. We were told that the full amount we paid would be put toward PAP's. They would not let us exchange for AP's. They also required our receipt for the FITS pass. Unfortuantly you cannot upgrade an expired pass.

Thanks, Muffy. Too bad we didn't know before we left that we might be back. We would love to upgrade to PAPs!

Maybe you better send Disney an email, I have done this several times before and you allways get an answer :D

would you please post the e-mail address you use that actually gives you responses.

the one time i e-mailed disney about a credit for a canceled PS at Cindy's that never got posted to my credit card, I never heard back from anyone! (the credit finally came four months later after 3 phonecalls to disney, probably costing about $3 toward the $15 due us, but oh well....)

thanks,
dj
