Upgrade at the port - luggage

My husband is concerned that if we give our luggage to the porter that has our original stateroom number on it, how do they find us if we upgrade after checking in? He’s afraid we won’t get our luggage.

Maybe it's just the way you phrased the question, but to clarify the "if" bolded above... any luggage larger than typical carry-on size must be checked through the porters. You may carry-on all your bags assuming everything is all small enough to fit through the scanners (like an airport) but there are no luggage carts to use and you will need to carry everything until the staterooms are available around 1:30pm.

As to an upgrade and your luggage finding you... as PPs mention - just tell your new stateroom host who will track it down. As I recall, there's a barcode on the luggage tags which connects that bag to your reservation, so it will find you.

We had the same question when we decided to upgrade to concierge a month before the cruise. The on shore concierge team said that the printing on the luggage tags are for the guests. Disney uses the bar code on the tag. If you change rooms it is noted on your reservation number. And your bags follow the reservation number not the room number.

The past 2 times that I have upgraded at the port, the luggage found its way to our room. What did not find its way was the in-room gift, and a note about onboard credit from my TA, we had to ask a room host to track those down for us
