Loooooove the Smashbook idea- so much that I might steal it for my two older ones!
I'm a digital scrapper and recognize the 'print-out' kit you used!I own it as well & have scrapped many pages with those same 'embellishments'. (Britt/Salin Studios).
I hope you can get back to running soon. You are looking for excuses TO run..while I look for excuses NOT to run! Hahahaha- I'm doing a Mud Run on Saturday. And doing the color run in St. Louis on the 15th! And one at Brookfiled Zoon on the 22nd. (All 5Ks though). I am REALLY struggling building distance up. I'm not distance runner- that is for sure!
Hello, hello! Today is 169 days! The girls think it's flying, they were in shock yesterday when I said we were at 170. I guess it would seem that way since I've been counting down with them since at least 335!
I got a great idea from Pixiedust530 for Smash books! I have seen Smash books before, but it never crossed my mind to do them for Disney. Basically a smash book is a scrapbook but you smash it all in there!I thought if I got smallish ones, they could use them for journaling, pics, and autographs. These are a little bigger than 5/7 and can be carried around the parks. They come with a pen attached that also has a glue stick on the opposite side and have funky and unique pages inside to decorate.

I bought stickers and printed out some Disney related things that they could cut out and paste in their books. They decided to decorate the covers first.

You can see the actual size of them in this shot. These were called "mini smash books" on Amazon.

I had a good time sitting with them, talking about Disney, and listening to music while they decorated!

The covers came out SO CUTE! Savannah's is the one on the left, Eleanor's is on the right.

They decided to decorate the insides a BIT, but not totally, because that will be done after the trip. We saved all the cutout words and stickers for when they get home and want to add photos and other things from the trip. Some of their pages:

This was funny, Savannah said she was going to ask one of the Princesses to hold a cupcake and take their picture for this page. I dared her to do it...if you know Savannah (very shy) you would know this is a huge dare. We'll see!

Savannah added this to her last page because she said something ALWAYS has to go wrong, so she was just preparing for it!

This took a few hours of our afternoon to do, but I think they really enjoyed it and making their own autograph books/journal/smashbooks made it more personal for them.
Now, if we could just get my injured heel (heel bursitis) healed up, maybe I could train for this half marathon I'm supposed to be running in 171 days!!!!!!
Ummm, can I come and relive my childhood at YOUR house.
Although I would have been a problem child with little patience.Lord knows what MY cover would have turned out like.

LOVE it all, Karen. The pictures themselves were so gorgeous - I had to get off that and look at them all again as to get the actual story. They both did a lovely job.
As for you pushing your heel.![]()
Awww, cute pics of the girls!! Sorry to hear Savannah has been sick- I hope you get some answers soon-
TOtally random question- I see Savannah's hair is curly- my oldest has curly hair as well. Savannah has no frizz in her hair that I can see (compared to my DD) How does she manage that? Is there a product or process that I'm missing that I can try? The ONLY thing I've found tha tworks is flat ironing DDs hair and that takes FOREVER.....
Oh boy, she would laugh at this question b/c she says it's a constant battle with her hair and it's ALWAYS frizzy! It is pretty good the day she showers (Pantene conditioner helps a LOT) but by the next morning it's pretty out of control! We have used Argon? oil in the past with a bit of luck, but it's just gotten a little easier as she's gotten older. I know she says she NEVER brushes it except for right after the shower when it's wet. If she tries to brush it once it's dry it frizzes out, so she just runs her fingers through it (and throws it in a ponytail if needed).
Oh, she also refuses to wash it daily b/c she says that's horrible for your hair and dries it out so sometimes she will just wet it with water to control the frizz...but how is that different??? :shrug
Why yes, Lisa, you should come move in right away! I've been told that this is a pretty cushy place...my 19 year old says there's really no reason to leave, they have it pretty good! I may be in trouble there!
You are cute. I was just on your TR b/c someone posted and it bumped in my subscriptions. Naturally I had to go back to page 4 and scroll through all your beautiful shots again. I stopped to get dreamy-eyed on the Main Street full of runners. *sigh*![]()
Pretty soon you'll be a dreamy-eyed running Main Street girl!
LOVED the pictures, Karen. Just gorgeous - the girls and your shots.
I'll be tech-free soon as I'm going to homecoming at my university - for the weekend. But as soon as I get back I need to get back to that blog. Please feel free to harass me if I forget. Cause I want to be over there!
Ooooh, permission to harass!!!!It's a good thing I don't have your phone number, I might start texting you multiple times a day!

Do you know I don't even text?![]()
But for you, I would.

I hope that Savannah is ok. It is never fun or easy when your kiddo is sick.
