Yay! I'm glad you got it booked! I feel bad for the DISers that know about the Dessert Party and wait until about two months out to book (like it has been previously) because they may be all filled up by then!

I just have to say it. It is just RIDICULOUS - JUST RIDICULOUS :rotfl2: how fabulous these pictures are.

And the first one - breathtaking. Yes, I just said the food shot is breathtaking. :rotfl2::rotfl::rotfl2:

Lisa, seriously, you have me rolling here...you know you ALREADY drooled over these same shots when I had them in my TR, right? :lmao: Good lord, I love having my own personal fangirl. It's so awesome. :thumbsup2

I would love to do a PTR, but I get so shy about it!! I know that sounds crazy. I worry no would read it and it wouldn't be interesting enough. I have wanted to do one for a while though, so maybe I will get the nerve up one day!

Reading through this one, just wanted to say how excited I am to find it!

I'm doing the Princess Half in 2014 too! Really looking forward to seeing how others prep. =D I might start a PTR too, we'll see.

I saw you had posted an itinerary, and you'd be leaving the day of the run by 3:30am. Have you done any of the runs before, is that something that's needed? (Sort of scared to think about leaving that early. Yikes!)

Aww, I'm shy in person, but I'll blab all over the internet! :lmao: PTR's don't get as many comments, but I see it kind of as a journal, I've gone back and read them and it's a fun way to document things!

Yay!!!!!! I hope you can start a PTR, we can compare training. I have not done the Princess Half, but I have read a lot about it and have runner friends that have done it and yes, it's advised to leave by no later than 3:30 to catch the bus. Apparently wrangling 22,000 women in one place causes major traffic jams and lines. If you leave much later, you risk missing the start! :scared:

I'm not really looking forward to killing time once I get there, waiting for the start, but I also don't want to be running for the corrals and missing it.

I'm coming off an injury and finally back to running the last 3 weeks, which is great. I had my mileage up to 8 miles, but I'm back to basics and trying to build for a 10K that I have on November 2nd. I'm running three times a week. A 30 minute run, a 3-4 mile maintenance run, and then a long run. Right now my long runs are just up to 5 miles. It's only up from here! :thumbsup2

How about you? Tell me about your running! Are you doing the race alone? Where are you staying? LOL...I have a million other questions but I will stop so I don't seem like a dork. Oops, too late! ;)

Haha, I guess that's good to know. Guess I'm gonna be exausted that day...I wonder if you can sleep at the corrals whlie passing time, lol!

I only started running in January(ish?)...sort of. I'm 29 and I ran track 1 year in HS (only the 100 and 200m, though). Did Cheerleading 2 other years and ran a mile each day for cheer practice, but that's all, haha. I'm sort of following the Beginners schedule for the Princess Half that they have on their site (The Jeff Galloway one), although I went ahead of it, because I'm going to do a 10k on Oct 26th for Halloween. I do 2 30 min runs a week (I usually average around 2.25 miles for those) and then one long run a week. I just did 4 miles today. =D Was pretty excited about it. I've done 2 5k races so far, and keep getting better, yay! (The first one I walked about half of it, the second one, I ran almost all of it).

Yup, I'm doing the race alone, my husband and son'll be on the sidelines, haha. (My son is doing one of the kids races, though. :D ) We're staying at the Pop, I'm super excited for it, because it's one I've been wanting to stay at for awhile now, and I was happy to see it as a host hotel.

How cool, we are both staying at Pop! :thumbsup2 I'm going to be exhausted too b/c I have no plans to "take it easy" after the race...it's DISNEY! I have to hit the parks! ;)

Yeah, we're only going to be there the 20th to the 25th, so we're squeezing in 4 days at Disney, plus mine and my son's race, haha!

So we'll end up being at a park the day before, the day after and the day of the Half. Yikes!

So! Are you calling me old? :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl2:

That's how fabulous they are - bring them back and they'll get even a bigger fanfare!

:lmao: This would be even funnier if I didn't know EXACTLY what it feels like! :p I'm the queen of forgetfulness, I'm surprised I remembered you commented the first time! ;)

Just back from the Tower of Terror! Wanted to pass on a couple of things...call today and get your room only discount if you don't already have play, stay and dine. I saved $160 at Port Orleans Riverside!

I got injured about 2 weeks before the race (pulled my calf muscle) and decided I would try anyway. Leg seized up about 1.5 miles in but never got worse so I kept on, walking more than planned but still finished and made a few character stops. So taking a week or so off and then maybe a week of test runs...then start the Galloway program for the Glass Slipper Challenge.

Also realized I need to think about park time/strategy post race (especially post 10k and pre 1/2). I'm still tired...

drlaurafsu - I had a running discount for Pop (it applied to my tickets and my room, i think?), and I just rechecked with the Stay, Play and Dine discounts, and that's going to save me and extra $125ish, booking that instead of the running discount.

We're trying to squeeze a bunch of touring in as well! I would start making a list of must-dos and go from there!

So jealous you did ToT! I really would love to do this race but October is really busy for my petsitting, I doubt I will ever be able to get away for it. Glad the leg didn't get better and you finished! I have decided that I WILL finish, I don't care what I have to do. :)

I've technically already started training since I'm upping my mileage already for the 10K I have in 2 weeks. Then I have a shorter mileage week after that and then the miles start going back up for the PHM!

I booked with a S/P/D pin months ago but I'm waiting on the elusive FD pin that some people are getting! It's driving me nuts b/c it would save me a few hundred more if I got it.

I've just got to ask.......have you already been strategizing your plans for the fast pass plus??? :confused3

Oh yes maam! So am I required to divulge all my plans here? ;) Actually, there's really no surprises here for me. I plan to make FP choices for afternoon/evenings and hit RD like we always do. This way in the morning we can hit the shorter lines and then when we hop in the afternoon we will have FPs for headliners. :thumbsup2

I realize this will crimp our go-with-the-flow attitude, but I usually know what parks we're headed to each day anyway and where we will probably hop as well.

I'm on smashbook #3 and can't get enough!! I would have never thought to get a mini smashbook for Disney, but that sounds like a fabulous idea!! Thanks for sharing :cool1:

Update needed!!!!

Show the gorgeous picture to the masses, Karen. :thumbsup2

I'm at my parents and need to be entertained. :goodvibes :thumbsup2

Thanks! I think the mini will work out well to carry around, they seem to be excited about it.

Lisa, dahling, the photos I posted on FB last night should give you a slight indication of what I've been doing! OMG, this week has been slammed with busy-ness and today is Savannah's actual birthday and party! I am scurrying around trying to get petsitting done, wrap gifts and decorate! A proper update will come tomorrow when I can throw in birthday party pics too. Oh I will probably have too many shots, I'll share the one with my mom now...or two...or... three! :lmao:

Oh and just to give you something interesting, I added one that I don't think I had on FB for ya Lisa! ;)

For those of you that have no idea what I'm going on about, Friday my 81 year old mother came out to celebrate Savannah's 13th birthday and we took a few photos. I love them, but the B&W of my mom and I laughing together is going to be one I cherish for my lifetime. I just love it! It makes me want to laugh and cry all at the same time!

We live 100 miles from St. Louis and my mom lives in St. Louis...she's a big Cards fan.
