(UPDT: 2/21) Losing The Glass Slippers to RUN like a Princess! Serial-PTRer report!

Great news on getting the airfare booked. Sorry to hear about the pain. Hopefully it will clear up quickly for you.

The shirt is adorable!!

Hi! Joining in...read your whole report so far this morning!

I am also coming back to running to help with weight loss. I am signed up to do the Tower of Terror and the Glass Slipper Challenge so lots of running in my near future. I've done a 1/2 years ago but developed plantar fasciitis and quit...so injury prevention is my primary focus!

I've also been a photographer in the past professionally, but now its all for fun.

I need to do a PTR/TR to as I've got 3 upcoming Disney trips...ToT, MVMCP, and GSC!

Whoohooo! Exciting, yet brief, update!! :cool1:

I got our airfare yesterday!!!!!!!!!!

SWA finally lowered the prices enough for me to purchase our tickets, so it's official! There's no turning back now! We arrive in Orlando on Friday February 21st at 10:55am and we leave the following Thursday the 27th at 4:20pm!! Having the flights paid for always makes the trip seem more real, like it's really happening. Probably b/c I'll go and sleep on a pool lounger if I have to, but I have a way there! ;)

Fantastic Karen! :thumbsup2

And great on that late afternoon on the way out. That makes me very happy. So I should put your BCV requests in now. Or did already do that? :scratchin:rotfl2::lmao: I would say it's age but it's probably so much going on. :goodvibes

Congrats on getting your airfare! Sometimes...that's the BEST part...because you know there is no turning back!!! ;-)

Sorry to hear about the heel pain. Hopefully a little R & R will do you some good and then you can get back full force!

Woohoo!! So glad you got your flights! And it looks like you only have to leave at the crack of dawn on your way down, not the way back. :thumbsup2

Adorable shirts! :cutie:

Kya is nervous about flying as well and completely freaked out the last time we went to WDW (like crying that she didn't want to go as we were boarding the plane). It's hearing Savannah and Leslee talk about the awful long drive (and our awful drive home from Gulf Shores last year, lol) that ultimately made her ASK to fly. Hopefully Savannah will also feel that flying is the lesser of two evils.

Have a fun visit! :goodvibes

Savannah said she was nervous yesterday, but I think she'll be ok. She was better on the way home last time. I'm so relieved that I don't have to drive! I hope Kya is feeling better today!

Congrats on the airfare!!! That makes it SO real!!!

I just rented a car yesterday which was the last on my must 'to-do' list for our trip.

Sorry about the injury! That stinks! :(

Thanks Nicole! How's the running going? Are you ready for the race?

Thanks! It's feeling better, but I'm waiting until tomorrow to try and run. Hopefully that will be enough rest!

Welcome fellow runner and photographer!! :thumbsup2 I had PF as well, for TEN months! It was horrible and I had just started back up running and had to completely stop. I think that's why I'm really careful when something starts to hurt now. I do not want to be out of commission like that again! It's better, doesn't hurt, but I'm waiting another day before I try my shoe on and go for a 3 miler.

Fantastic Karen! :thumbsup2

I have no clue if you put in the request! We have similar memory retention. :lmao:

Do you remember what I decided? I'm going to go with these in this order:
high floor
pool/canal view
close to BC

Does that look good?!?! I'm.so.excited!!!! :cool1:

It's feeling fine, no pain, but I'm still being really careful and doing lots of stretching. Giving it one more day and then hitting the pavement again! :goodvibes

Congrats on getting the airfare! AND for the 8 miles! (even if it did make you super sore it is still a big accomplishment)

Love the picture of you at the end of the 8, btw! How can you look so good? I look HORRID after I run. :crazy2:

HAHA! I'm just a good photographer, I don't look good after 8 miles! :lmao:

I'm excited, I finally was able to run yesterday, I did a nice slow 3 miles and it felt so good to get back out there! Still a bit sore, so taking it slow! :thumbsup2

Yes, that's what you decided. But I still can't remember if I did it. :rotfl2: My goodness. :lmao: Will do. :thumbsup2

Lisa! There are tons of pics on FB from the zoo yesterday. I was thinkin' of ya when I was shooting (trying to get my Lisa-inspiration) but I got more people shots than anything. It was a family day and that was what I was busy capturing! :goodvibes

Glad you are doing better! You inspired me to start my own PTR...but since I have 4 trips coming up in the next 9 months I am doing 1 giant TR for the year!! LOL!

ADR's DONE! (well, kinda)

So, I got my ADR's done this morning with mostly no problem. Got everything I wanted, our favorites and a new addition! I have one that I cannot make yet though.

On our last day(Thursday the 27th), I want to do 1900 Park Fare for breakfast but because of our split stay, I cannot make the ADR. I had no idea Disney did this, I thought you just got 180 +10 from your first reservation day. Nope. I even called to confirm. You get 180+10 OR until your last day of the reservation and because I'm checking out of Pop and into BCV to stay on points on Tuesday, it will not let me reserve for Thursday.

I'm not really concerned about it. I don't think a late breakfast on a Thursday at PF is going to be hard to get. What I was worried about was our celebration dinner the night after the race, but no problems, I got it! :woohoo:

This will be a first for Savannah & I (it's all a first for Eleanor!) We're dining in the Castle! 6:40pm. Wonder if we'll still be in there when they do Wishes??? That would be cool.

We've never done CRT before, mainly b/c I'm never willing to spend 2 credits on it and they don't have many options for vegetarians. I figured this would be the best time since it's just a girls trip and because I will have just run the Princess Half Marathon! :thumbsup2

The rest of the meals are traditional places we always eat. What can I say, we love what we love and are creatures of habit. Savannah insists that we eat at Rainforest Cafe every time we go to DTD on our arrival night. It's tradition, but really the only reason she wants to go is for THIS:

VOLCANO!!!!!!! Honestly, it's just ice cream and brownies, but it was the first thing she ate on her first trip to Disney ever, and it stuck. I still remember the look on her 7 year old face when they came out and yelled "VOLCANO" and set this down in front of her and her friend, Isabella. Here, a picture of that first volcano...

So, even though they are overpriced and the food isn't good, I humor her. It helps that I have gift cards that I have gotten from MyPoints that will pay for the meal. ;)

Our first breakfast is also tradition. Savannah says we have to go to MK on our first morning and we have to eat at Crystal Palace before rope drop. Got an 8:05 and as always, I'll be overjoyed to get pics in front of the castle with no one on Main street!

We love CP for breakfast.

On Monday we'll be at AK, so we chose Tusker House for lunch. We love TH as well but the last two times we had lunch there it was not a character lunch. This will be a fun addition to the amazing food!

We'll be doing lots of CS meals and hopefully pop into Beaches & Cream while we are staying at BCV. I don't want to make an ADR though b/c I'm unsure of when we'll fit that in. I'm excited to make that Park Fare ADR next week, it will be a perfect way to end our trip. Eleanor LOVES the Alice characters and Savannah & I have never been there! :woohoo:

In other news, ran a Superhero 5K yesterday and no pain (I have been having heel bursitis issues recently) but I'm taking it easy still b/c I'm still having some swelling. Dallas ran and Savannah, Eleanor, and Kya (Hope's daughter) walked it. Here's a pic of us all in our Superhero gear! Eleanor, Savannah, Dallas, me, & Kya.

The ADRs look great! That pic of CRT makes me wish for a WDW trip...

Don't forget to order a slipper dessert for CRT; it is AMAZING! pixiedust:

I totally forgot about the slipper! So I call closer to the trip and order? Do I call the cake line?

You reminded me...I need to think about my ADRs. Hoping for play, stay and dine while we are there...no code yet. But I need to make the ADRs just in case!

I'm guessing they will release it to the public in October some time! I would definitely get the ADRs done so you have them made already! :thumbsup2

Fun ADRs!

Love the super hero costumes! What fun!

Thanks! We had a good time. I'm still having some heel bursitis issues, so more rest for me but glad I was able to run. :)

Yes, call the cake line. I can't remember how far in advance you need to call though.

I think similar to the cakes, maybe two weeks out or something? :confused3
