Changed the name of my report, because of what is coming up. !

Ok, I can't believe we are back already. :(

This is my first attempt at a trip report, so I hope not to bore you, I will have lots of Pics from the resort, the parks and of course the glorious food. :smokin:

First off a little background and cast of characters.

We decided late in March to do a trip to the world. My DH needed a lot of convincing, since he does not share my love of all things Disney. We originaly planned to go to POR for 6 days, as it got closer, I really wanted to stay 8 days, and after much convincing and promising it wouldn't cost any more, my DH finaly agreed to 8 days at POP. We decided to try the basic Dining plan for the first time as well.

My family consists of :

Me - Disney mom and wife

DH - Cant really get into Disney like me

DS - 14 year old who isnt quite sure why mom always wants to go to Disney, always asks to go to Universal ?

This is us at Epcot several days into our trip.

We left on Saturday morning at 7am. Disney is about an hour away from our home so we stopped at BK for breakfast, and were on the road a little after 8am, we drove down I4 uggghhh, and got to POP at about 930am. I had never been to this resort, and was a little aprehensive about staying there, but once we pulled in I was excited :yay: We were finaly here.

We went to register and I was happily surprised to find our room was ready. :thumbsup2

This was our 15th anniversary trip, so they had that noted on our reservation and gave me and DH anniversary buttons ( I didnt even know these existed).

Our check in process was very smooth and quick, by 10am we were in our room and unpacking. Of course I first checked for the ever ominous bed bugs ( that I had heard so much about ) before I let DH and DS in with our luggage. Seeing that the room and beds were very clean, in we all went. Here are a few pictures of our room.

We found the rooms to be fine, a little smaller then the mods, but not enough to really notice or make a difference to us. We went down to the luggage storage area and found our fridge from one of the swaps ( to whomever thought this up originaly, what a wonderful idea) we brought it to our room, came with a toaster and a coffee pot, what more could you want ?Then we went to Classic Hall to purchase our mugs and get those famous frozen cokes. yummm

Next thing it was off to HS for Star Wars Weekend ! ( the one thing my DS was really excited about) His only wish was to meet Darth Vader.

I can't wait to hear more. We are going to be staying at the Pop Century in December and it will be my first time there as well. I am looking forward to see how you like it, but I don't think staying anywhere at disney could be bad. :rotfl2:

Hi Katiebug86, Welcome to my report, looks like might just be you and me.

We loved POP, I really didn't want to stay there but finances dictated I needed to if I wanted to spend 8 days at the world. ;)

I was so happily surprised at the resort. It is big, but we had a great room in the 50's building 3, on the fourth floor, and it didn't seem far from anything.

It was very quiet, and it overlooked the lake and part of another building. We never heard the infamous plumbing we had heard so much about, the air conditioning worked wonderfully, and the mousekeeping was great. We did only get one towel animal but that was fine. When ever we called mousekeeping for anything, we received it within minutes. The staff was wonderful from the front desk to concierge, to the food court. Everyone was very nice, informative, and helpfull. I don't think you will be disappointed.

We did have our own car, but we used the bus service on several occasions and it was fine. We never waited more then 10 minutes for any bus, at the parks or the resort.

We are planning another trip either later this year or early next and we will be staying at POP.

I will try to post part 2 tommorow, if you have any other questions just let me know, and I will try to answer quickly.

Again, Thanks for reading.:thumbsup2

I'm here!

I loved Pop when I stayed there! Great food court, great gift shop, bus service worked well for us, all around fun!

Looking forward to your review and pictures! And you live only an hour away? You are so lucky!

you know my family and I have the SAME pic in epcot from when I was a teenager.......about 14 ish! too cool!

Joining in too, I stayed at POP 6/6-6/9. Bldg 2, 2nd floor, we faced pool and could see the lake to our R. Loved the resort, and I am a Moderate fan. Would go back again for sure. I did not have to share the bed, so that may be a consideration if we returned.

We loved our late night dip in the pool, and the weather was great, warm, but we expected that. Can't wait to read your report. Thanks for taking the time to write.:surfweb:

Can't wait to read your report! We are staying at POP for the first time in August and I cannot wait! :cool1:

I cant wait to read more!

Welcome MomofCKJ,

Pop is a great value resort. We were very happy there, and to think I was worried :confused3

That is very cool, you will probably have a lot of the same pictures, but I'm willing to bet I have some from Malstrom in Epcot that you probably dont have ;)

You will just have to stay tuned to see why. lol

JWWI, I'm so glad your reading, wasnt sure I would have any one intersted in our trip.

POP was certainly a nice surprise for us, my DH has always wanted to stay there and I was a little nervous about it, but it really turned out to be one of our favorite resorts.

Stay tuned.

DisneyFanO6,

Seems like we are kind of neighbors, we live in Ormond Beach. I think you will really enjoy POP, every one was incredibly nice, and the resort is so much fun. The dining plan really worked well for us, you certainly get a lot of food.
I will be posting my reviews and pictures soon.

I'm in. WE atayed at POP last year and are staying there again in August:yay:
