What a great trip. We LOVED the deluxe dinning plan. It worked out very well for us. I have lots of pictures of food and the resturants to add to this thread tomorrow, but I wanted to go ahead and start the post.

Below is just some brief information. I will post the pictures soon and add detailed reviews of the meals per picture.

Mother's Day Brunch @ Epcot
This was an amazing meal. The decorations were just prefect. A blend of Disney and elegant design. The food was great and my kids really enjoyed the create your own cupcakes station. The other favorite was the omlet bar that had a very energentic chef at the station. It was a wonderful way to celebrate mother's day. We will be doing it again for sure.

Ohana's for dinner
After reading alot of good reviews for this meal, we were completely disappointed. I will say that our meal was at 9:40pm so maybe it was just to late for a decent meal. The food was bland, the waiter was ok, and their was no entertainment. The whole meal felt very rushed. We might give this one another try, but have no plans to in the near future.

Whispering Canyon for Breakfast
This was probally the most disappointing meal of the entire trip. My kids love Prime time, because of the crazy interaction with the servers so we decided to give this place a try. My children tried everything to get our waitress involved (they asked for ketchup, chewing gum, etc) and she only talked about wanting a bartending job at Universal. What was worse was the waitress next to us was doing a wonderful job. The kids kept asking if we could switch servers. The food was on par with a Shoneys. We were not impressed at all. My DH and DD12 ordered the skillets and the waitress brought them both a child's skillet to share. The food was cold and the mickey waffles were hard. I really want to try this place again, but the family says no.

SciFi for lunch
This is one of our favorites. We eat here every trip. The burgers and shakes just can not be beat. Our waitress even recommended which desserts would work best to take back to the resort. It was so much food, but it was very tasty.

Primetime Cafe for dinner
This is one of our favorites. We eat here every trip. It was so much food, but it was very tasty. Uncle Tim even remembered the kids from our last trip in January. It wa a great feeling to walk in and have a friendly welcome back greeting. This was a late dinner as well, but the servers were great. The food was great.

Coral Reef for lunch
The food here was not impressive. I loved the custom menus and the diver help up a sign for us, but other than that it was just average. We will not dine here again.

Garden Grill for Dinner
The food was average, but the character interaction was great. We were able to visit with all the characters several times. This was a right before closing dinner and I was impressed. The only problem we had was both DH and I got sick from the spinning. So we probally will not be able to try this one again. But the cornbread was delish.

Cap May for Breakfast
The buffet was good and offered a variety of food. The characters were fun and playful. My kids loved being able to draw all over the table. This is one that we will do again for sure.

Yak N Yeti for Lunch
This was an interesting meal. We went thinking we would get a good asian meal. Parts of the menu were tasty, but at best I would say it was an average meal. The wait staff did not seem like they never how to take orders, etc. But we chalked some of it up to being a new place and plan to try it again.

1900 Park Fare Dinner
This was an odd mix of food. But everything seemed very tasty. We tried alittle of everything. The charcters were very funny. My family just loves the stepsisters now. This is one we will be repeating soon.

Ohana's for breakfast
the characters were great for this meal. However, the food seemed very limited. The mickey waffles were cold and hard. The family style platter was mushed all together. We had to ask several times for more fruit and bread. The food taste was good, but it wasn't impressive enough for us to want to return.

Liberty Tree for dinner
This was a great meal. Hands down one of the best of our trip. The characters spend lots of time with the kids and were very interactive. The food was great. Our waiter was constantly checking in on us and gave us lots of great Disney information. This will be a must do for us as well.

Thanks for the brief reviews! Looking forward to the more detailed ones and the pictures, and I have ressies for several of the ones that you went to! Glad to hear you had a wonderful time!

Great start of reviews. Can't wait for pictures and more details of your dining experience. Sounds like some places are a no for you again. I'm sorry it didn't work out for you in those places. Maybe the servers were having a off day. Can't wait for more...

We have the deluxe plan for Sept, and are excited to try it. There are some days where we have signature meals planned (so 2 TS/day), and some days we are doing 3 TS/day. Tried to space meals out like we would at home, but still worried we won't have much time for the parks, expecially MGM (we only decided on 2 TS in The Studios for our entire 11 day trip). How'd it work for you? Any suggestions?

Here is the first pic review I have ready (taking longer than I thought - I am busy playing catch up at work)

Yak N Yeti

Appetizers

101_1209.jpg
[/IMG]
Pork Egg Rolls - chili plum dipping sauce $7.99
You get 3 eggrolls. The eggrolls were crispy and tasty. This was my favorite appetizer at Yak N Yeti. However, they were just normal eggrolls you can find at any asian place.

101_1207.jpg
[/IMG]
Lettuce Cups - minced chicken breast, chopped vegetables, maple tamarind sauce, crisp lettuce cups $10.99
I was really exicted about trying these, but I found the chicken mixture to be too sweet. I wanted more of a spice to the taste. However, my 8 year old DD loved these and ended up eating the whole plating.

[/IMG]
101_1211.jpg
[/IMG]
Dim Sum Basket - Pork pot stickers, shrimp siu mai, cha su bao, and pork sie mai steamed on a banana leaf, soy lime dipping sauce $12.99
These were great. I would recommend these over the eggrolls. They had just the right amount of spice. We did not care for the lime dipping sauce however, it seemed to take away for the dippers. Yummy I can not wait for these again.

Entrees

All of the entress were average asian food. The beef flank steak was a bit chewy. The chicken was crispy with the right amount of sauce. Everyone at the table prefered the chicken.

101_1213.jpg
[/IMG]
Crispy Honey Chicken - tempura chicken, broccoli, carrots, honey sauce $15.99

101_1212.jpg
[/IMG]
Stir-Fried Beef and Broccoli - flank steak, broccoli, brown sauce $16.99

101_1215.jpg
[/IMG]
Sweet and Sour Chicken - Tempura chicken , ginger, garlic, bell peppers, pineapple $15.99

Desserts - Yay our favorite

101_1218.jpg
[/IMG]
Chocolate Brownie Sundae - chunks of brownie, vanilla ice cream, chocolate and caramel sauces, fresh whipped cream $7.99
This was HUGE! The brownie was walnuts in it and it just the right amount of gooey in the middle. I thought I had died and found chocolate heaven. This is a must have.

101_1221.jpg
[/IMG]
Fried Wontons - Skewers of fresh pineapple and cream cheese wontons, vanilla ice cream, honey vanilla drizzle $7.99
The wontons skewers and icecream were great. I thought the honey drizzle was a bit to sweet and was not needed. But my DH and DD LOVED these. Infact they both ordered them and both cleaned their plates.

101_1219.jpg
[/IMG]
Sorbet - Mango, lemon, raspberry $5.99
My DD did not want the child's dessert so the waitress let her pick 1 scoop of mango sorbet. It had a nice flavor and the rasberry drizzle gave a good contast in flavors. My DD ended up not liking it, but if you like sorbet it is a good dish

Kids meal and dessert

101_1208.jpg
[/IMG]

101_1220.jpg
[/IMG]
$7.49

All items are served with choicie of carrot sticks,
applesauce cup, fruit punch gellatin or chicken fried rice

Chicken Bites

Dessert - Ice Cream Sundae $1.49

These were the standard kids meal and desserts at table service meals. I have to admit I really like the kids chicken.

The service seemed a bit rushed and the waitress wasn't really sure of anything. We had a few questions about the food and she had to go ask another server. She seemed to have issues with us ordering of plan items. My DD wanted a rootbeer and she gave a speech about it being extra. But then we had to ask 3 more times to get the rootbeer. Each time she gave the speech about it being off plan. The bill came out without the amounts so we were not sure what to do about tipping. We asked the waitress for a bill
showing amounts and she was not sure how to manage it. Rather than waiting while she figured it out we did rough math in our head and she seemed happy with the tip we left. It seemed like she was new.

Any other questions please feel free to ask. I am working on the rest of the reviews.

Great review of Yak & Yeti! They seem to have to work out the kinks at that restaurant in regards to their service. The family and I are definitely going to try this restaurant next year. :thumbsup2

Great review so far. I can't wait for more.

Great review and pics of Yak n Yeti... this is one of the places I am really looking forward to!

I wasnt sure about yak and yeti but now definitely want to try it and cant wait for more of the pics. I know your busy but hurrryyy!!! LOL. I am having disney withdrawls and cant wait until December so I am using Disboards to keep me sane.

Coral Reef

Appetizers

101_1030.jpg
[/IMG]
Sea and Land - grilled shrimp with cucumber salad and barbecued beef skewer with creamy polenta $10.99
DH LOVED this dish. The beef and shrimp were prefectly cooked, but the star of the dish was the polenta. This was the highlight of the meal for him.

101_1032.jpg
[/IMG]
Creamy Lobster Soup - chervil and brandy $7.49
I had the soup and it was good, but it was not the best I have had. It was a bit cold when they brought it out for my liking. It also seemed to have more of a tomato soup taste more than lobster. My DD finished off my bowl and said she liked it (but it was her first lobster soup)

101_1031.jpg
[/IMG]
Chilled Shrimp - served with seaweed salad $9.99
DD ordered this expecting it to be similiar to shrimp cocktail. She said the shrimp were yummy, but they were covered in a tart cocktail sauce. She had to rub the sauce of in order to enjoy them.

Entrees

101_1035.jpg
[/IMG]
Grilled Mahi Mahi - served over Israeli couscous and arugula with honey soy glaze $18.99
DH and DD both ordered this dish. They ate most of the fish, but were not impressed over all. My DH said the meal reminded him over a Red Lobster meal. I am not sure if we maybe just had to high of expectations from reviews on the board.

101_1034.jpg
[/IMG]
8 0z Grilled New York Strip - served with potatoes au gratin and broccolini $25.99
I ordered the steak. It was a nice looking piece of meat, but it was seasoned with a sweet taste. The taste was not appealing to me and in addition it was tough. The potatoes au gratin and broccolini were both DELISH. Beef is always iffy at a seafood place.

Dessert

101_1042.jpg
[/IMG]
The Chocolate Wave - served with brandied cherries $7.99
DD ordered this and thought the cherries had to much brandy for her at 12. DH tasted them and said indeed they have a kick. You liked the chocolate cake outside, but was not thrilled with the filling. We are not even sure what the filling taste like. It had the look of slimy snot so no of us could bare to try a taste. It probally was wonderful. I wish we would have taken a photo of it, but they asked for it to be removed.

101_1038.jpg
[/IMG]
Bailey's and Jack Daniel Mousse - topped with a ganache and chocolate cigar $7.99
DH LOVED this dessert. He said it was very smooth. Prefect for chocolate lovers.

101_1039.jpg
[/IMG]
Key Line Tart - serverd with a mango sauce $7.99
Always the odd ball of the family I ordered the non chocolate dessert and it was GREAT. It was so cool and refreshing in my mouth. I was stuffed from lunch, but still managed to eat must of it myself. YUMMY

The service here was incredible. I used the number on the boards and contacted the manager Debbi for custom menus and a diver. She was so helpful and nice. When we arrived they had made menus for the whole family. We felt so special. The waiter was top notch. We never had an empty cup or a need he did not help with right away. The atmosphere was great as well. The kids loved spotting the animals. The highlight was the diver. The whole meal no one was in the tank. I had not told the family about the diver just incase and had decided that was a great move as it wasn't going to happen. We had ended our meal and my DD (whose birthday it was) had went to the bathroom when the diver appeared. The divers pointed around the room looking for her and my DH and waited till she reappeared. They threw shells up in the water. It was great. I recommend this place for the service, but just expect average food.

We loved the DxDDP and no it did not feel like we were eating all the time. We would do an early breakfast 7am-7:55am and then hit a park. We had lunch scheduled 1pm - 2pm which was good cause about that time the sun was HOT and we needed a break. Then dinner would be around 8pm - 9pm which again we needed a break before hitting EMHs. We did not use many of our snack cedits during the week. But we went to Goofy's Candy Shop and loaded up with 24 snack credits before we left. Which the kids gave out to their teachers and friends. Everyone around us can not wait till we go again. lol

It worked out great of us as we used the meals more as a minibreak. The only problem we had was we would not be hungry enough to really chow down like we wanted when the food was just sooo good. Next time I think we will just do a brunch and a 2 credit dinner. Because it broke my heart to leave most of that keylime tart sitting on the table. It was just sooooo good and I was stuffed.

Fantastic reviews of Y&Y and CR!:worship: We have ADR's for both this August. I can't wait. Have the menus and diver also. Great job.:goodvibes Looking forward to more!:yay:

Thanks for the great reviews of Yak & Yeti & Coral Reef. We weren't impressed at all with Coral Reef on our last trip but we are looking forward to lunch at Yak & Yeti on our next trip!
