I think you are experiencing what happened to us this past weekend! Do you only have antivirus, or a firewall too? We found that the firewall gave us some problems. Disabling it allowed us to get to other sites, but of course, our computer wasn't protected!

Just this morning we figured out how to solve it so that it was enabled but we could still browse. I'm not at home right now though, so I can't tell you how we fixed it!

I haven't downloaded any updates for my pop-up blocker in at least 6 months because then I have firewalls! Can't get anything I want! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Hope it straightens out, Laurie.

We downloaded Microsoft's recommended protection for
Internet Explorer and we immediately went down. Our
IE was corrupted by the Microsoft download and we have
had to back up our system and reinstall our XP completely.
It was awful! I'm currently using a laptop attached to the
DSL modem to access the internet as our PC still isn't
able to browse. Good luck!
