Just a heads up if anyone plans to use the virtual visa GCs that are on sale at giftcards .com to prepay Verizon. I could not get the cards to work on the site. I've had success with other eGCs in the past and just used a Swagbucks mcgc on Verizon the other day with no issue. Thankfully, my electric company's billing system accepted them.

Anyone have issues with using the $15 coupon that this deal generates? I used one yesterday and two today, at two different Safeway stores, and all just rang up as 1 cent off and required a manager to come override and manually give us $15 off.

Yes! I did this deal on Saturday at Safeway. I bought the gift card in a separate transaction and then bought my groceries and used the coupon. The coupon didn't work and needed to have a manager override. I'm in AZ.

They do have signage about this promotion on the participating gift cards on the gift card display.

Just a note, there are a lot of variations on this particular offer. Savings range from 20-40% and have different spend amounts, business cards are targeted for a percentage based offer while personal cards are spend $X get $Y.

I remember dining at City Walk, Bubba Gump a few years ago and we were only able to use ONE $20 bonus card. I believe we had $15 on a gc and they could not be combined. If this still hold true, the best value on the Landry's deal is to buy $250 & Get TWO $50 bonus cards. Depending on the size of your family of course.

At my closest Safeway in the suburban DC area, the gift card deal had a couple of restrictions.

• Store had a policy of max 4 gift cards or $200 per day on a credit card, 20 gift cards or $2000 per day on a debit card.
• The coupon only rang up twice per Safeway account. My partner was with me so when my third gift card didn't produce a coupon, we switched and did two on his.

So 3 cards on my Safeway number, two by credit with the coupon, one by debit without the coupon, and 2 more cards on my partner's number by credit with the coupon. Not bad but jealous of the poster who did 10 in a single day!

The manager said I could come back daily and see if the two coupons is a per day limit. We'll see if I have the patience.

In the past, I have used Blackhawk Network prepaid cards to buy Verizon gift cards and then use that to pay my Verizon bill. However, the prepaid cards from giftcards.com are known to have issues working at a lot of places.

I’m in DE. Not that far away (maybe 2 hours as we drive frequently to DC for hockey). My store said there was no limit. I am shocked that it varies so much per store. Sorry you couldn’t get more.
