Thank you for posting this. I just checked my Dosh account and found Office Depot and Petsmart deals as well as World Market. Petsmart is 10% cash back up to $9.00 with a Visa connected card. It expires 10/31/23.

Ugh. I am so sick and tired of Target’s coupon games. This one is online only. That one is in store only. This one is only valid for certain items but not the one you bought. Today I bought an item that had a manufacturer coupon for $1.50 off that was added to my Circle. I carefully read the conditions that it had to be above a certain count and selected an item that had more then the minimum. I noticed as I was leaving that the coupon didn’t come off. I spent 15 freaking minutes at customer service only to tell me that the item I bought didn’t show on the list of eligible items even though (1) the count was above the minimum and (2) the coupon didn’t say “select”. What a crock of crap. I know it’s only $1.50 but the stupid coupon showed up at the bottom of my app when I scanned it. They refused to honor it.
I had the same problem last week but customer service at my target refunded the amount.

I just got off the phone with Office Depot Customer Service and the rep was very polite and helped me open a ticket (more on that later). At the end of our convo, she asked me how I would rate her from a scale of 1-10. I said yes, I will stay after the call to answer the survey. She asked me again how I would rate her from a scale of 1-10 and I said that's for me to enter into the system. Then she said "Well, I'm asking you now." I was quite taken aback and replied I have never had a CS rep directly ask me for a rating. She then hanged up abruptly. Now I'm wondering if I had overreacted. Should I have just told her 10 just to have her leave me alone? What would you do?

I had placed an order of 4-$25 Uber gift cards online at Office Depot to take advantage of a 10% Chase offer back on 8/10. When I have not received anything one month later and tracking showed Shipped but no delivery info, I called OD and they said they will have the gift card vendor contact me. The vendor emailed me and said those are promotional gift cards and not meant to be sold. Well...they are still on the OD website! PSA: DO NOT BUY these Uber GCs on OD's website! I replied to the vendor and asked for a refund and they said I will have to contact OD. After waiting for almost 45 minutes on hold, the OD rep helped me open the ticket and told me someone will get back to me about a refund. That is the backstory to the above exchange.

This is similar to the prepaid mastercards for $20 and $25 they used to sell, but at least on those they cancelled the order if you tried to purchase it. They do write in the description "This item is for promotional purposes only. This item is not for purchase." However, that is dumb as why should anyone be expected to read the description on an uber gift card?

Basically, any gift cards that Office Depot sells online are processed through a 3rd party (Cashstar), if a gift card is being processed by Office Depot then it will only be a promotional gift card and you can't purchase it. Basically, those are free gifts that you get if you make an order over a certain amount.

I have a question on vgc.... I got a few from Staples yesterday (have to meet a spend) and I went on the site, checked each one, registered, and changed the pin...I'm hoping this will help protect against fraudulent use while I'm using them over time....it's pretty tedious to do all 3 things with each vgc I bought- do any of you do this?

I know people do, but I don’t. I pay my kid’s college tuition with them, so I regularly have $20k+ in VGCs in a bin in my office. It’s a pain to pay tuition $200 at a time (but worth it since I save about $1800) - no way am I also going to register all of those cards. I do keep the original receipt clipped to the card until I use it.

File a chargeback. Now. You have gone above and beyond with your time to fix this. Merchandise not delivered.

And next time tell the rep 10/10 and then hang up after you’re transferred instead of voting. Like grandma taught me, white lies don’t count. This way a ticked off rep can’t do anything to sink your complaint.

Thank you...definitely helpful to know and I wish they would indicate this on the thumbnail picture with a red banner "for promotion only and not for purchase" or something like that. Or just cancel the order like you described with the PP Visa and MC rather than show Shipped on tracking when no such thing ever occurred and I kept waiting for it to arrive. Lesson learned!

Oh my gosh, I hope she didn't sabotage my ticket! I will call Chase today.
