Feeling vindicated over here! In 2017, my daughter had both 1099 and W2 income, but not much, well below the free file amount. I put all of her info into Turbo to file and they popped back that I'd have to pay because they didn't do both 1099 and W2 for the free, only one or the other. I was so annoyed because I reread the details about who was eligible to free file and it wasn't in there anywhere.

I'm cheap, so I cancelled the return and went through the hassle of data entry on another free file platform. I guess I'm not getting compensated for the wasted time, but it's a nice little, "Aha! I'm not incompetent! They were the ones being shady!" moment.

My understanding of the Anikeev v. Commissioner suit was that only taxes had to be paid if you got miles, etc benefits from the purchase of cash items with your credit card (purchasing a money order with a credit card and prepaid reloads). By contrast virtual visas are still considered products and can be used in anyway therin,…that said, I am not an accountant or a lawyer but so also doubt the IRS will come after me for a few hundred dollars of min maxing when this guy was really the first guy they tried to go after because he min maxed to the tune of hundreds of thousands lol.

Also I had missed Post 7254, no reason to pay the fee!!

Hello. I'm new to Disboards and the idea of using DGC to save $ on Disney vacations, but I love the idea. As a family of 6 with an upcoming trip in Nov, every bit helps. I've been following along with these posts and am confused about VV and their advantages. I understand you can use them with the Cash App (which I still have to sign up for), but why are they better than just adding money to your card? And are VV in someway better than a physical Visa giftcard? Thanks in advance for any answers. I've tried to use both Virtual Visas and several different flavors of Visa and MC GCs with Cash App. While I can add the card, I've never been able to successfully use them to add funds to CashApp - I always get a "transaction failed" error.
