This deal is so geographically limited that I hesitated to post about it, but in case anyone else can use it now (or in case they spread to more locations in the near future), I thought I'd go ahead and share.
For those who shop at Whole Foods, they are gradually rolling out a system to pay in-store using a QR code . . . that's hooked to your Amazon account . . . and with which you can pay with Amazon GCs loaded to your Amazon account.
So my Harris Teeter currently has 4x fuel points for GCs. I bought 2 $500 Amazon GCs, netting me 4000 fuel points, or $1 off 4 tanks of gas (roughly $80 off, even without any multi-car hassle at the pumps). Oh, and Chase Freedom Flex has grocery stores as their quarterly bonus category, so I also got 5x Chase Ultimate Rewards points on that purchase.
I load the Amazon GCs into my Amazon account, and now I can essentially get 5x (plus the additional value of fuel points) at Whole Foods through my Amazon app even after this quarter is over.
Like I said, it's super geographically limited right now - I'm lucky to be in one of the markets. Hopefully they'll roll it out more widely soon. Here's the list of stores that currently participate:
