Tried to quote the Giant Eagle/Target discussion from a few days ago, but failed... lol.

I would go with offer 2 for sure. I just bought a $1000 gift card at Giant Eagle GetGo (their gas station) with my Disney Visa, which has the bonus on gas station purchases using their 3X fuelperks deal. As long as I get 30 gallons of gas each time I use my fuelperks, I'm going to get $180 in free gas from that transaction. Because of the gas station bonus, I also got $51 in Disney Rewards dollars back - meaning I got a $1000 gift card for $769.

The real key here is maximizing the amount of gas every time you fill up for free. Giant Eagle will let you get 30 gallons each transaction using perks, so I'll fill up our car and then use 5 gallon gas cans for the balance to get to 30.

Thanks for the info about the AT&T gift cards. I have AT&T prepay and if I use gift cards to pay my bill every month I don't get charged taxes. So, the Target deal saves me an extra 5%. It's only $3.50, but it adds up!
