Even though Target gave this family a full refund, that might not always be the case which doesn't help.

Years ago, Bed Bath & Beyond had their gc racks out in the open making double dipping an option. Buy a specific discounted gc elsewhere and then use it at BB&B to buy another discounted gc. Then they moved the rack behind the cashier's, if you wanted one you had to ask for it and during purchase the cashiers watched you like a hawk preventing double dipping. After this change, I don't recall anyone posting their gc were drained which leads me to this Q.

If you had the choice what would you prefer; gc's in the open or behind a controlled counter?​

Rite Aid sends mixed messages as Michigan braces for more closures

Communities across Michigan are bracing for the impact of a wave of Rite Aid closings — which may affect all 185 stores in the state — as one of the largest pharmacies in the U.S. cuts costs in a fight for survival.
The drugstore chain this week disclosed 12 Michigan stores slated to close as part of its bankruptcy reorganization, on top of 19 closures the company announced when it sought Chapter 11 protection in October 2023.
While Rite Aid has sent mixed messages about the fate of its other Michigan locations, a local union representing more than four dozen stores is expecting mass closures.

All Michigan stores will close “probably by the middle of September,” John Cakmakci, president of United Food and Commercial Workers Local 951 in Kentwood, told Bridge Michigan on Friday. Direct link

BTW, I am finally getting my new car, we started looking right before COVID started, then the market went crazy, now I am finally getting my 2025 Honda CR-V. Only frustrating part is that my insurance company definitely has CS overseas. Want to say Asia; thry definitely were trying to hide their accent, but the English felt ‘off’. Took 2 calls and over an hour to get the new car and date correct. Took 4 repeats of the VIN for them to get it right…argh!

I just checked my mperks account and the limit is 50,000 points per customer (10 uses), not 5,000 (1 use).
