Candlelight Processional 2024

I'm new to CP at WDW - I've only done it at DLR. What is the typical price point for the Dining packages - or does it vary greatly by restaurant. Also, can you see CP without a dining package if you wait in line? Suddenly thinking I probably need to go check out post #1 on this thread haha

Depending on the narrator, there's no guarantee of getting in via Standby

That's helpful thank you! Neil Patrick Harris is doing it on our day at Epcot so I guess I'd better book dining. I'm going to read through this whole thread and also google how much the dining packages generally cost :)

Update: Found the answers online: Yes the cost of the packages varies by restaurant.

Heartbreaking to miss Josh Gad by a hair, but we’ll be on a Disney cruise so I can’t move it around. I do like that there’s far more dining options this year.

Surprised I haven’t heard more excitement about Jodi Benson (the original voice of Ariel) closing it out.

I would love to go to CP with Jodi Benson! Our night is Josh Gad. It’s our first time seeing him. Excited for it and ready to book that dining package. 😂

She is incredible! I don't know if I'll be able to see her again this year, but I am determined to try

I talked my husband into adding a night to our trip to see Gary Sinise. I was not as excited to see Ralph Macchio, sorry Karate Kid! So excited!
Nice! I've wanted to see Gary Sinise... our dates haven't aligned. I'm not super excited about our only option the days we are there, but I love the live music and Christmas Story so I know we'll enjoy it.

We’ll be seeing Ralph Macchio, and I am happy! Not happy that appetizers aren’t included, but still looking forward to the CP. The next day we’ll be on a Merrytime cruise! :santa: :boat:

So I am new to all this so quick question.

I would like to see one of the shows after Christmas.

Is my best bet, buying a dining package to do that? Do I need to wake up early and get it as soon as it goes sale?

I am also curious if I need to buy an Epcot ticket now or do they sell out that week? ( Can I buy day of? )

Just seeing what I need to do to guarantee entry.

Thanks!

Depending on the popularity of the narrator and to secure entrance to a performance, yes, purchasing a dining package is recommended. I’m not sure how quickly the dining packages sell out but again, for more popular narrators, the packages will fill up and possibly quite quickly.

We don’t really know what the holidays will look like this year as it’s the first year since most park reservations were removed but, there is probably only a small chance Epcot will fill to capacity. It is not normally a park that fills to capacity. You can likely buy day of but, it’s not guaranteed (even if you have an ADR) and, you will pay more if you purchase at the gate.

There really is no way to ‘guarantee entry’ unless you purchase a one day ticket for Epcot, for the date of the performance you wish to attend and book an ADR.

Again, Epcot rarely fills to capacity but want you to know it can happen.

I think he’ll be great! I wish he were there when we are. I have a soft spot for him - he’s my generation plus he lives in my area.

If we go it’ll be Tituss, who I am not that familiar with but will be happy to see.
