Thanks for the kind words, and yes, we are happy to take people with us. If you ever find yourself on a Disney cruise at the same time, let us know. We feel very blessed to have these special experiences and love to share them with others. They are only fun if you are sharing them with people who have the same love for Disney that we do.

Hi David. I'm really sad that you didn't contact us to share the PALO experience with you. As far as we knew, based on your posting to the cruise thread, you were no longer going to be able to take this cruise. I guess sharing is just lip service?

I know many folks in Imagineering, been there many times, and frequent Club 33 every once in a while. What really topped all those experiences, though, was being with REAL Disney folks sharing their kindness, friendliness, and friendship from the DisBoards. It is a shame you couldn't bring yourself to join in....we had a great time.

Oh, BTW, the Captain met everyone as they were disembarking. He is a gem!

One should remember, that people with true class feel no need to flaunt it.

Further food for thought: There were children on this trip whose last wish it was to meet Mickey or Stitch or Cinderella (or unbelieveably a muppet). They are called Make a Wish kids. And they were thrilled with the simple chance to just do that. And their parents were thrilled that they woud have that ONE opportunity to see their child's face light up for that one moment with a smile big enough to light the world when their life is usually filled with so much pain. I personally hope your captain's hat brings you as much joy as I experienced when I handed a little boy (who was not part of our group) one of the fish extender gifts that I had left over because some people from our DisBoard group felt it necessary to disassociate themselves from the rest of us. His mother started crying because he was a MAW kid and she was so thankful for this one more little bit of magic. THAT IS WHAT DISNEY CRUISING IS ABOUT!

P.S. I will be posting my own report this weekend.

It never ends...You first cite that "people with true class feel no need to flaunt it" and then advertise a good deed that you performed.

What you did is indeed very kind. However, you seem to compare apples to oranges. My trip report is just that, a report based upon the experience I had. My report details the wonderful experiences we had as well as a few low moments. The only people who seem to be offended by this report are those from your group who we did not associate with. My report has nothing to do with Make a Wish children or what they experienced. I am glad that the Muppets made some childs day, but that has no bearing on a show that was presented to the public that I did not find entertaining.

I love how we attempt to reduce an entire 10 night Disney Cruise to some politically correct gesture (one which you felt the need to point out). Disney cruising is about nothing more than a multi-billion dollar entertainment company attempting to offer a product that is superior to other competing firms. I feel that they succeed in this area and it is for this reason that we reward them with our business.

Oh, by the way, you should check the guest list for the Make a Wish a party held last year on the Disney Magic in Los Angeles, you just might be surprised at the name you see on the list...

Wow , seems my night will be spent defending my position. We sent a private email to you offering dinner with us at Palo. We heard nothing back from you after the initial response. We told you the time and location. I am sorry you felt it was my responsibility to extend the invitation a second time. This is in line with my entire argument, we don't attempt to force ourselves on anyone.

First, none of my post was directed at you. So, why did you take it that way? Ad hominem arguments are the weakest kind, so I won't stoop to the same. However, I will respond to your personal attacks on me. I was not "advertising something kind I did", I was sharing a magical moment from my trip about something that was special for me and my husband. Moreover, spreading pixiedust is not class dependent.

Thank you. Though I am disappointed that some of the children from our thread did not receive their "fish extender gifts" because we did not have their room number.

Again, none of my post was directed at you or your report. I'm not sure why you took it that way.

I didn't mention your report or say anything negative about it.

I never said I was offended by your report. I actually find it quite interesting. Oh, and by the way, you are part of the same group, since the group is comprised of people who post on these boards.

I never said it did. I was simply sharing experiences that made us happy just as the experiences you shared with your wife made you both happy. People share like that on these boards all of the time.

I never knew spreading pixiedust was considered a politically correct gesture. I won't even respond to your parenthetical.

As a shareholder (and no, that is not bragging or a class thing, its a PSP/401k thing!)..., I would like to thank you, and I hope you continue to choose to cruise Disney as often as possible in the best category room you can afford. However, if you haven't tried Silversea yet, I would highly recommend it. It seems, based on your posts, that it may also meet your needs.

No, thanks.

I'm still not sure why you thought I was attacking you though.

Disneynut1955 - I loved your report. Thank you for taking the time to share it. Judging by your signature, it sounds like we'll be sailing together in September 2007!

Let me see, you posted it in my thread while attributing your argument to my previous posts.

Thanks for the kind words. What cruise will you be on in September? Sounds like you are local to us as well. We have quite a few Disney friends here in the valley. Hopefully we will get to know you prior to the cruise. Thanks again!

We're booked on the 7 night Eastern, September 29th, 2007 :cool1: Do you live here in Phoenix? I wish we lived a whole lot closer to Disneyland. We just vacationed there for a week in March. Family said it was long enough - I would have loved to stay longer. I read about the reservation seating for Fantasmic on another board and reserved us seats on the Riverfront. So totally worth it! Would have loved to have seen it from the view you had, though! I can't wait to go on DCL! It took quite some convincing with the DH! We're looking forward to a MAGICal time! :wizard:

Dave thanks for your report. I loved reading it, I dont think you should have to defend your self it was your report. I loved everything on my trip last May except when someone took my chair when I was swimming and threw my towel camera and glasses on the ground, and told someone that it was her chair. You have to watch out for the crazys it seems their are alot of them out their. I hope when you go on your next trip that you will do another report. :thumbsup2 :sunny: ;) :goodvibes :)

:scratchin I'm having trouble understanding why someone who is fortunate enough to be able to have special experiences is offending some of you by sharing them. I love reading trip reports from people of all walks of life....from the mom who took part time work to afford the trip for her family of six to the couple who cruises often.

hmm.... I overheard someone comment about the DISboard members and returning cruisers. This person said all these people do is complain. Makes you think.... I enjoyed every minute of my vacation. Every minute. When things were not perfect, I enjoyed it anyway. It was my vacation. I enjoy life and I do feel sorry for people who do nothing but complain.

The Muppets were great by the way. If anyone has pictures or video of the Muppets, we would love to have copies. Thanks...

You are very rude!!! I still don't understand why you are on the boards?

you keep on quoting this "group", but the whole disboards is a group.

Each sailing has a group of memebrs that talk to each other before they sail.
Are you trying to imply that every cruise that you go on that happens to have some disboard members on it, you will try to stay away so you are not apart of "the group"??

your comments makes no sense? :confused3

Your trip report was honest of course based only your opinions but your respect from me and other fellow disborders has gone down the trash with your rude comments. :sad2:

Steve

My commentary seems rude to you because I don't subscribe to your way of thinking. Funny, every comment from someone outside of your group is positive. In case you have not noticed, I am not seeking to win a popularity contest.

As for my commentary not making any sense, I guess people will just have to endure my endless ramblings. I stand alone and offer no apologies that I am not swayed by a mob ruled mentality. Judging by the private messages I have received, there are more than a few people (not on our cruise or in your group) that feel exactly as I do.

I am on the boards for a number of reasons. I enjoy the free exchange of ideas and the discussion of things related to our favorite brand of vacation. I am on the boards because I enjoy having conversations with like minded individuals. I am on the boards because I learn a great deal from honest and uncensored trip reports that can provide me with information regarding all aspects of Disney cruising both good and bad.

I am NOT on the boards to win a popularity contest. I am NOT on the boards to have my friends join an argument in an attempt to bolster my position. I am NOT on the boards to be the circle of attention on a cruise and to have everyone look up to me for being "cool". I am NOT on the boards to perform good deeds and then advertise them to others. I am NOT on the boards to make friends with every single person.

Let me also clarify the definition of group. "Group" in my writings refers to your specific group, those who chose to rally around one another on this specific cruise. Those who are on your rooming list that was created for the cruise, your RSVP list for the various parties, the list you and others compiled to keep track of each excursion that everyone was on and what their favorite character is. The group that you have built over the last year. Every single negative comment has derived from someone in that group.

I have no problems with groups in general, I just felt this particular one was not for me.

Again, your opinion of what the DisBoards are for does not match mine. Not that you are wrong, but you utilize the boards for a different purpose than I. Don't judge me because I don't subscribe to your beliefs.

I couldn't agree more. :thumbsup2 It's nice to read all different types of experiences on DCL, all the categories, all the state rooms, all the Adjusted Gross Income types! I, for one, may never be able to afford the luxuries a Cat 2 or 1 could bring me but it sure is nice to "live" in that moment through someone's TR!

Sorry but I feel the need to point out the irony in this. In my very lengthy trip report there were countless paragraphs of positive comments expressing how things were great, wonderful, amazing, etc. and yet the same group of people seem to find fault wth the fact that I have *SOME* complaints.

Once again, a post from someone who was associated the group...this just continues to lend credibility to my earlier commentary.

Like you, Disneynut1955, joemuseum was part of the group because he posts on these boards. That is the sole criteria for being a part of the group. In actuality, since joemuseum was on his honeymoon, he didn't really participate in too many (if any) of the group events at all ;) , so please don't slander him by lumping him with the rest of our "cult," as you put it. Unless Joe and his new wife want to be part of the cult. :thumbsup2

Once again, I will state, that I have no complaints about your review. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Besides, I love reading all kinds of reviews. I love reading about your experiences. I find them thoroughly entertaining. What I find offensive is the derogatory comments about posters and members of the DisBoards, especially when children read these boards. And that is just my opinion.

First, I did not slander him. He made commentary regarding the fact that my trip report was negative. I countered with the fact that my trip report is indeed filled with numerous positive comments. The trip report has many positive things and a number of people ignore that and allege that I am complaining about "everything".
