maybe everyone is upset that there was no suite tour?

I can only speak for myself, but a suite tour wasn't high on my list. I've been there done that already on the Wonder. It was suggested, I offered to organize it. Nobody wanted to take part, so it was dropped. I'm glad it didn't go through, to much to do and not enough time to do it all. I've also already been in the Walt and Roy suites, so I wasn't there to see the rooms. But to meet up with the others and to put a face with the names.

I know I love my cruise meets thread, but there are many who choose, nor want to, participate in the activities.

I agree with you on that also, I didn't met up with the Disboards people on my Feb cruise. I was with my family and wanted to spend time with them. Nothing wrong with that at all. This time around it happens that I was where I could meet up with the Disboarders. Next time around it could be different.

To each their own!

it would be nice if the bolded parts of your quote also included who spoke, "wrote" them as I did not and they way you quoted it makes it seem like it was all by me.

I was on this cruise along with my wife and son. My wife (tiggerstac) made little presents to put in the fish extenders. She also went to the lunch and thought all was great.

Reading all these posts I can see where some people might think that the "special treatment" like the bridge tour where the rest of us had to look down from above really didn't need to be mentioned because most people who are reading this wouldn't be able to get the same tour or push buttons (really we all want to push buttons) as Disneynut1955 did. Same thing with the pictures of walts apartment. Most people would not be able to do these things and have private meeting with people so how can one possibly look at a trip report and say wow I can't wait to do that. (I probably could have pushed the button and sat in the chair but would have most likely been arrested)

Steve

why shouldn't the OP post about his/her own experiences in his trip report? I am so confused...that is like saying that I shouldn't post about the gifts we received from the Concierge team as most on the sailing weren't getting the same?

I bolded my words so that I could address each subject that you had in your post. It was nothing directed bad toward you, it's just a way of posting. As for my "To each their own" comment. This website won't let you make the bold comments within a quote with out making a comment outside the quote. So I did the "To each their own!" outside the quote so I could make my post. Again it wasn't directed as being all about you.

Edited to fix a spelling mistake and to add:

I was replying to your post.

gotcha! Thanks for clarifing!

No you should post about what the Concierge team gave you for gifts. Even if it's not the same on every cruise the point being it's something that is done by that team every cruise and if a person is on that level would recieve the same service just different gifts.

Now sitting in the Captian's chair and pushing buttons is not.

It was still an experience I had...The sole basis for a "trip report" is to describe experiences you had on a trip. I do not feel a need to censor my report nor limit it to experiences that are only available to the general public.

Once again, I am not making any negative commentary towards people who may not be afforded such opportunities so please don't be take a negative stance of my report simply because I was afforded said opportunities.

But isn't that what concierge is all about? :confused3

People pay a premium for concierge level service and that means that the team there is supposed to do everything they can to fulfill guest requests (within reason). If you don't ask you'll never know if it's possible to do something.

I mean I find it a bit annoying that I can only book one time at Palo for tea, brunch, and dinner while concierge guests have the option of going as often as they want, but that's a level of service that they pay to receive. My husband and I would rather spend our money elsewhere (can you say spa? :teeth: ) and if we can nab an extra table at Palo one night than power to the people! If not, we eat in the dining room and still have a great time.

I think everyone needs to relax a little bit, ok? :goodvibes

Wow! I haven't read this trip report for a day and look at all that has happened!

I personally enjoy almost all trip reports (including this one....) if I don't , I move on to the next.

:stir: :stir: Some don't seem able to do so :stir: :stir:

For what it's worth, I DO enjoy reading trip reports of all kinds, including those that share unique experiences that I could only dream about. How wonderful to live vicariously for just a little bit. You're a lucky man, Disneynut, and thanks again for sharing your trip! :goodvibes

Wow... I think that Disneynut's trip reports were great, they gave us a LOt of detail and a chance to see some things most of us would never see.

Steve and Amlee, LET IT GO... you are perpetuating an unneccesary argument... most of the people come on here and enjoy Disneynuts's report... read their comments... NO ONE had an issue with what he said but you TWO... So, it is you two that are really taking this this thread OFF TOPIC.... please let it go... lets just keep this thread on the topic... I understand you not liking the term "cult" however, that was one off color remark, and since then, you have made many more back to him... Didn't your mother tell you that "Two wrongs do not make a Right?" This is the time to step back, relax and if your comments do not add to the conversation and topic, then send them through PM's and do not post them here....

Am I the only person to notice that Amlee has the word "cult" under their name, I guess this was put there by the "tag fairy"?

Perhaps this is why the OP used the word "cult"????

Anyways, I have LOVED reading the Trip Report and look forward to reading others from the OP.

Actually I had let the topic go until I got up this morning and my name had been brought up once again. Yet again I let the subject go and once again my name has been brought back up. One should follow their own advice and keep a thread on topic.

No, I changed it after the OP made his comments toward those of us from the Disboards.

I apologize to you. We did post that we did not think we would be able to go. We in fact decided to go the evening prior to the trip. We were not looking to exclude you and did not think to repost that we had decided to go on the cruise.

David: Great that you apologize now, after we had to forfeit going to PALO for dinner that night. Unlike you, we weren't in the Concierge Level, and didn't have an extra opportunity to go to PALO. In true Disney spirit, it would have been nice to offer to book for us while we were onboard. Our Cabin number was clearly posted to the boards.

BTW, David, your review of the cruise was nice, it just went a little beyond what most people would even hope to experience. Posting Concierge gifts and service was nice, but posting and boasting about the other "special" events is just beyond most people's limits. I'm not trying to be mean-spirited, just passing along a few little pearls of wisdom and pixie dust. Maybe if you hadn't tried to buy yourself into Steph's Suite we would all have felt just a little bit better about your motives. It was also clear that embelishment was part of your story. I've been in the Walt Apartment in Disneyland several times. I have pictures too. LOL!

This is my last post on this subject, so consider me "moving on"!

I have also greatly enjoyed reading your trip report. I found it to be fair and balanced. My brother and his wife, who were on this cruise also, made similar comments in reference to the Muppet show and the other new one (the name escapes me at the moment). ;) Although your experiences with the private bridge tour and your many visits to Palo are far different from what my onboard experiences have been, I enjoyed reading about them and thought it was "way cool" that some people get to do this. :surfweb: I remember reading a few other trip reports some months back where other Disboarders got to enjoy the same treat, but somehow I don't remember it stirring up such a brouhaha. :confused3

So in true group fashion, you wait around for someone to do something for you??? I did not recall you attempting to call me and my cabin numbers was clearly posted as well. Sorry, I extend invitations, not hold hands! Time to let it go, you were capable of getting your own reservation.

I posted what I experienced just as you commented about going to Club 33 and Walt Disney's Apartment. Sorry that my unique experiences causes so much jealousy with you that I should have to restrict and limit my posting so as not to offend the less fortunate.

Ahhh....how funny. And you actually believe this? Seems to me you bought into the hype like the rest of the group. About one year ago, after Steph was upgraded from a Cat. 2 to a 1 and I was upgraded from a Cat. 3 to a 2 (all paid upgrades) I made a passing comment about swapping rooms. Sure seems funny how despite this nefarious attempt over a year ago, you still tried to get me involved with the "group". Seems like we are trying to find any reason to justify your continued commentary. My motives are clear, I had no desire to be part of your group. Sorry that continues to be so hard for you to swallow.

No embelishment here. They actually hired a photographer so that we would not have various shots of the interior of the apartment. As a matter of fact, the second visit was granted because of the ambiguous photo policy from the first visit. Glad you had the chance to experience the apartment as well.

Disneynut, I too enjoyed your report. I like the fact that I can find out what experiences you had in your suites in the hopes that some day I too can experience it that way. I like to hear how a cruise is so different for many people and like to get ideas for my own cruise. We are planning a cruise for Oct. 21 and have thought about posting a report, but I'm not so sure anymore. I certainly don't want to defend my actions just for letting people know what we did or did not do. I do hope others still continue to post reports because I really do like them. I hope you continue to write reports as well. Thanks for all your insight!
