Just off the phone with MS:
They are reporting that there are MAJOR problems between the member web-site and IE usage. IE8 is not allowed to access web-site with reported usage of IE9 & IE10 encountering some issues.
I have not been able to access the web-site for the past 3 days. I have IE9 at wiork and IE10 at home.

I can understand them not wanting people to use IE8 any more because of all the security problems with it. I'm a bit surprised it doesn't work well with the latest IE.

I believe the latest IE is 11 - that's what I've got and I've had no problems accessing the website lately.

I no longer use any version of IE at home. Just not worth it and the Disney sites are not the only ones that do not work well with IE. I HATE that we have IE8 at work.

I've been using both CHROME and FIREFOX at home for quite some time and have had no problems. They're free to download and well worth the short time it takes to do so.

That's what I have with no access issues.

Older versions might want to try running in compatibility mode.

I had to look and see that I have IE 11 too although I usually use Firefox. But when Firefox doesn't work I switch to IE. And if that isn't working then I head to my Ipad Air. Fairly silly games of browsers that can be required to access the DVC website.

Yes, and the cause could be any number of things. I know I have lots of cookies turned off in IE because that's my main browser; I know that I have very few turned off in Chrome. So, when Chrome works, is it because of that? I think some browsers use other programs (like flash) more or less than other browsers. So is that part of the problem? I doubt that even the people who support the websites could tell you for sure.

Downloaded IE11 last night and was able to get back into the member web-site from home.

It is nice to know that people on these boards are reporting this issue with access to the member website. I just spoke to a DVC Member Services Rep online and it seems like it is like pulling teeth to get anybody from Disney to admit anything when there is a problem. At any rate I was finally able to get an admission from the Cast Member that my Windows Vista and Internet explorer 9 were no longer supported. But it was aggravating to spend 3 days getting the error message that the system was down for maintenance. What's next? Disney offering to sell us updated computers to make more money? I keep reading on these boards that Hilton Head is a very difficult reservation to make in the summer months at 7 months out. I am happy that I made my reservation a couple weeks ago before DVC pulled the plug on my desktop system without so much as a warning banner on the member website warning members to use alternate means to make reservations. Disney communication skill are poor regarding almost everything except sales.
I was getting the error message that DVC member website was down for maintenance when in fact I was able to log in at the same time with a more current version of Internet Explorer with another computer. Thanks to the previous people posting here that tipped me off to the problem.
