Well, I'm no longer pregnant. I thought it might take since I got pretty sick right away. But it was not to be. It's one of those sad but glad things. I really didn't want to do middle of the night feedings at age 45.

BUT, now I am determined to run the full marathon in january. Funny that running my first marathon at 45 seems much less daunting than having a baby at 45. I would have been due the week of the marathon--weird. I guess I needed a little perspective to realize I could run it.

So, I'm lining up my races for the fall, but I'll wait to try a full until the Disney in January. I might try the wine and dine. My SIL wants to do the relay with me and let me do the longer half. That would be fun. And I have a half scheduled in September and November.

The hardest part is that I think I need to get some more weight off to run a full. I lost 70 lbs last year, but I think I'd do much better if I lost another 30. And I'll have to do more weight training. Sometimes on my long runs (12+ miles) my upper back and shoulders start to give out. I'm sure lifting would help that.

So, tomorrow I start training for real. 237 days and counting...

I'm so very sorry for your loss. If you need anyone to talk to, please PM me. I've been there before.

Best of luck with your training!

((hugs))

I am so sorry for you. But, things happen for a reason, and I'm glad you are able to see the positive in this for your life.

And you know what, running a marathon is less daunting and a lot less work and money. ;)

I'm sorry for your loss. :grouphug:
Good for you for focusing your efforts on the marathon. I'll be thinking of you!

Amanda

Sorry for your loss. I'm glad you're able to turn it into something positive by running your first marathon.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I have been through this as well, if you need any support please PM me.

Thanks to everyone for the hugs.

I'm back running and trying to stay positive. It's nice to run without watching my heartrate (or stopping to toss my cookies). And the bloat is going away so I'm looking better. I'm going to treat myself to a new pair of running sneakers this weekend and some new tunes on itunes. I just set up my running schedule for the W&D half and the WDW full. My structured training will start late June. For the next month I'll just enjoy running and building up a solid base.

Thanks again to everyone.

Jenny, I am very sorry for your loss. I think you have a great plan mapped out for your training this fall. See you at Wine & Dine!

I am so very sorry for your loss...and like many others, I am in awe of how you are taking all that energy and going for the Marathon goal. Completing that first Marathon will end up being such a more meaningful one for you and we are all here to help you through it! :)
