Well my "spontenaiety" or compulsiveness has gotten us in trouble in teh past. So I'm TRYING to exercise restrain...for 2 more months anyway! My DH looked at me the other night as I was esplaining options and said "did you already pu8rchase?!?!" No. I wouldn't do that.... no, I wouldn't do that. I am SO much lookingt forward to being part of the DVC "family".

You know what? I honest to God, hadn't thought about that aspect!
We nee dto get in as much as we can while they are young!!!! Sure, we'll go when they are grown and I look forward to being able to gift each of them a week there for a honeymoon #) YEARS from now. but I really hadn't thought about how really essential it is that we make the best of it while we can. You're cracking me up. I have this vision of you at the DCL terminal going OPEN OPEN OPEN! The next 2 months will go by fast, hang tough.

I think I was just as bad when we bought our first contract and again when we did our VGC add-on.

I think other have mentioned this, but if you purchase more than the minimun split the points into smaller contracts. That way as things change in your life you can sell the smaller contracts pretty easy. We have all our contracts as 100 points or less.

I went through all of that too! I spent more time here on the DIS doing my research than getting any real work done. Oh those were the days!

I don't think you can go wrong with either of these resorts. We own all our points at AKV (started with 170, now 220), but we've stayed at and love BLT as well. One thing to keep in mind is that if the MK/fireworks view is attracting you to BLT, those rooms cost A LOT of points. Roughly double the cost of a value room at AKV, or 50% more than guaranteed savanna view.

Another thing you should consider (sorry, guide!) is SSR resale. If you can get a resort that expires in 2054 for... $65 per point? I'd think really long and hard about that.
