Hello all~

I was just wondering if anyone had a machine like this? I'm tempted to get the pe-180D. It's available at a local shop for $699. And that comes with unlimited classes and 2 years of cleanings and 25% off all the cards.

Here's the link if anyone is interested in it. Please note that I'm not affiliated with the company in any way shape of form!!!

I like the fact that I would be able to put disney designs on almost anything. Tshirts, jackets, quilts, baby stroller cover!! It comes with built in mickey designs but also has a pooh card that you can purchase for pooh and the gang. Has 15 different disney cards total I believe. Was just looking for others input on these. Thanks

My mom has one of the Brother machines and has done a lot of the Disney embroidery for the family. She has the 203-d. Everything looks really good. She will be making us all shirts for the next cruise. She has done quilts for the grandkids and a number of other things too.

I know it took her a few tries and a couple of lessons to get the hang of what looks good. She also has bought quite a few of the cards to add to the machine. The latest being Nemo. The grandkids think it is the coolest!

She looked at this machine first but went for a total upgrade and she has done more sewing since she got it then in the last five years! :D

And I love it!

Misty...this is a great machine. I have 4 embroidery machines, and this is one of the best.

I like having a stand alone embroidery machine. That way if you want to sew while it is embroidering you can.

It is very easy to use and does great work.

Your price seems reasonable. You could probably buy it for less, but then you wouldn't get the perks the dealer is offering, and they are well worth the extra money! I didn't have a dealer who was selling it...so I ordered mine from out of state.

Go for it! You will love it!!!

I'm glad to get some positive feedback on this machine! My mom and mother in law both have the Pfaff 7570 and they love it BUT it won't do Disney. So I think I'm going to go ahead and get this machine. Have any of you used the Amazing Box which allows you to convert other cards into your format? I think there are 3 similar devices, Magic, amazing and ultimate box. Just wondering what your input was on those if you've got em.

Thanks!!

But I am sure you will be fine with it!

I have the PED software, and lots of Viking softwear...so I use those.

Mostly...I find that I use the cards from the company. More expensive, but less time consuming. Of course, I think I am in the minority in that.

It will be great that you have family that has other machines. They will be able to help alot!!!

Enjoy your new machine. All this talk has me thinking I better go check the new cards.

Hi Misty,
I have a Bernina Artista, and a magic box, and I love it! I can buy any brand of card and be able to use it with my machine. It has certainly given me many more choices especially when it comes to buying licensed cards such as Disney. I say go for it, but make sure you have lots of free time and you clean your house before buying it because you'll suddenly discover that embroidering is all you want to do!

Heather~ I'm dying to ask you a question. Does your magic box allow you to use the disney cards on your machine? Everyone I've talked to (salesreps) say no that it's copywright infringement and that disney has done something special to their cards and it doesn't allow their cards to be used on any other machine. Yadda, yadda, yadda. If it works I'll use it on my mom's pfaff 7570. Oh, I'm so excited.......there's so much stuff that I want to do. My best friend just found out that she's pregnant and there is so much that I want to do for her. Please let me know!!

Misty,
I don't have any problem with the Disney card, but I have one of the first ones ever made. I don't know about the newer ones. I would suggest maybe browsing for an embroidery message board, and asking there about the new ones. That would be a lot of money to waste, if the sales rep was speaking the truth. I personally don't feel that it is copyright infringment to use the magic box because, I purchased the disk for my personal use. I do not use the magic box to 'share' the designs with others. I have paid Disney for the right to use their designs. Let me know what you find out!

I finally bought my machine on Friday. Oh my goodness!!! I've been having so much fun. I've made washcloths and a denim skirt for dd so far. She's in love with minnie mouse!! Her skirt turned out so well that she wanted to wear it for pics today. And of course I let her!!! ;) One lady didn't believe that I did it myself. She thought I got it at the Disney Store. I'm hooked!!! I think everyone is getting towels and sweatshirts for christmas. Now I have to think what I can sell on ebay to buy my next card. (Just to clarify, I'm NOT selling disney designs on ebay--)I've just gotta have my eeyore. Thanks so much to all of you that recommended this machine. I can't say how much I absolutely LOVE it!!!!

Misty,

You know what might go over big on Ebay and I would be interested in. Could you embroider onto the backing paper or just some paper that was acid free? If so the embroidery item for scrapbooks go over big and they are some what expensive in the SB stores. Just an idea!

Isn't if fun!!!

Now comes the real fun of collecting everything you need to go with it...and room to put it. Something new to organize!

Have a great time with it! Maybe we need to start an embroidery thread....goodness knows I need inspiration to use mine!

Ok, you've all really got me going now. I've never heard of this machine. Could someone please give me a simple explanation of what it does and what are the cards? Thanks.

mommie2angels~ I've never done any type of scrapbooking before. Heck I've never embroidered on paper before either! Could you post a pic so that I'd know what you're talking about? Maybe it would be something I could do!!!

Patti~ I know what you mean by having to organize!! As of last night I had everything on the kitchen table. Then DH came home with a huge 7 drawer organizer. Everything fits perfectly. But somehow I've got a feeling that after our trip to Dallas this weekend it's going to be overfull!!!!

This is the machine that I have. It's a stand alone embroidery machine that has built in mickey, minnie, donald, daisy, goofy designs. I've already embroidered on a shirt, a skirt, a washcloth, a towel..........There are other characters that you can get on a disk and insert it into the machine and it will stitch those too. I'm going to get my pooh card this weekend or next I think. I'm obsessed!!!!! I love it!!!!
