Got a chance to see the gator at CSR. They are still trying to catch him and were chasing him around the lake today. Got some good shots of him. He lookd like he was waiting to be feed.

And here I thought they got him! I know they sat the traps out the day before we left and I assumed they got him them. DH got this photo of him:

Awww...what a cutie! ;)

You have to assume all the lakes in FL have a gator...cause most do!!

Wow - cool pics!! I am staying at CSR in May, maybe I'll spot a gator!! :teeth:

Great pics! Looks like "Smiley" is looking for a ...hand out. (What can I say, I love the Jungle Cruise!!!)

Those are some GREAT shots. He's probably hanging around in honor of his favorite basketball team winning the national championship! GOOOO GATORS!!!

My kids are hoping he isn't caught! We don't go until August, and they are hoping to spot him!
Great pic's Mario....looks like a beautiful day for Gator-seeing!

Buzz - i know you would like to keep CSR all to yourself :rotfl2: but a few pictures of a croc is not going to stop us coming :rotfl:

Actually, coming from England where the scariest wild animal we have to deal with is a wasp, that croc looks very scary :scared1: :scared1:

Lets hope they catch him before we get there....i actually have nightmares about us walking back from the PM and him being in the middle of the pathway!!!

As a FL resident may I just say (without trying to alarm anyone) that 'gators are very very fast. They don't look like they are but trust me, they are. They are not dangerous as long as you leave them alone but please do not encourage your children to go looking for them and especially don't approach one thinking you'll be able to outrun it if it charges. If you want a picture make good use of that zoom lens and take it from a distance.

Aren't you supposed to run in a zig-zag if chased by a gator?
Anyway parents-take your kids to see the gator, remember, you don't have to be able to outrun the gator, so long as you can outrun your kids... :lmao: :lmao:
Stand by with the extinguisher.... :firefight

EXACTLY, I agree with quinn22!! The only reason I got some close ups was because I am behind a fence on the patio and the gator is in the water. Security wouldn't even let us get that close anyway. CM's and security were always around making sure no one did anything crazy.

Those are some cool pictures. I am always keeping an eye out for gators when I go down by never find one. Thanks again for the pics.

Awesome pictures! Just showed them to my ds4 and now he gets why we can't swim in the lake when we go to WDW! :)

Buzz - your pictures are so good that you can even make a gator look good to me. Your pictures are the sole reason I want to try CSR one day (tough because we're a family of 5). I'm not even crazy over southwestern themese but your pictures just do it for me!

If the gator is larger than 6 feet they are destroyed. Apparently they have the ability to find their way home when they are larger. Disney has a wildlife preserve where they take a lot of the creatures.

I hope he has a nice new home. I saw a gator a few years back at MK in Frontierland. Someone decided he needed a smoked turkey leg. eek.

No, you shouldn't take the time to run in a zig zag pattern. According to the local news, alligators are very fast over short distances. If you run in a zig zag pattern, you won't put enough space between you and the gator. Just run away as fast as possible. Better yet, don't get close enough to make it an issue!
