Upcoming trip- cancelling guests/DDP questions

Hi- we have a trip coming in less than 2 weeks with a group of 21. There is a possibility of a medical concern (recent issues seem to be resolved, but could occur again). That would mean that 2 people in our party (the teenager with the concern and his father) would not accompany us.

Does anyone know how far in advance we would need to cancel their reservations/dining plan?

If we decided to downsize a room, would those points revert to our account? Could they be banked, or is there a certain time limit for using them?

Just trying to cover my bases...

Since you're less than 31 days out, and refunded points would go into "holding" and could not be banked. They'd have to be used by the end of your use year.

You should be able to change the dining plan up to 48 hours in advance.

To add, holding points not only expire at the end of the UY of the canceled trip, they are restricted and can only be used to book rooms for reservations 60 days or less.

If you must cancel, let MS know that is a medical reason. They can sometimes make exceptions. Don't count on it, but be sure to let them know. Pixie dust that all works out well.

Thank you! We will definitely let them know. Again, hoping that pixie dust works. It would be his first visit, so really hoping everything works out...
