Up to 25% Off Rental Cars with Access Card through Hotwire Savings Club

I'm forever trying to find a great deal on a rental car, so I guessed you might be also. I was looking at the Hotwire Savings Club website (If you're not a member, it doesn't tell you much) and discovered a Recreational Directory which can be ordered for free. It comes with an 'Access' card and rental car codes which can save you up to 25% off. It does state that you must present the card when picking up the vehicle.

There were lots of other savings too (see Budget Board). Hope this helps someone. Seems the codes I use are either already 'used up' or not good during my vacaton period.

I got a better rate with a 20% off coupon from the Entertainment Book. My rental starts on Thanksgiving and they only want to give 10% off for the holiday and that weekend. But that would have been better than paying full price. I was lucky and had a nice person from these boards send me their unused coupon.

I had no problem receiving my book telling me all the money I could save. It was suppose to contain the 'card' and didn't, so I'm waiting on that.

You could go ahead and make your reservation using the code. Also make a back-up reservation. If you don't receive your card in time, you can cancel the reservation for which the card is needed.

My advice is to call them to order the directory. Tell them to make sure the card is in with your book. But don't be surprised if the person you're speaking to has no idea what you're talking about. First time I called, I spoke to a young girl who seemed new. She put me on hold several times and even spoke to her manager. Neither 'had a clue'. I called back about ten minutes later and got a very nice older gentleman who knew exactly what I was talking about. It pays to be persistant.

No matter who I've spoken with, they have always been very courteous. I've heard otherwise on these boards though.
