Up Grading 2 Deluxe

I would like to upgrade my WDW trip to the Deluxe Dinning Plan,my travel dates or September 4th-10th,I read here that they may try and charge you,but if you ask to speak to I think it was guest services they wont charge you for upgrading,Is this true?,can anyone share if this is true. i'm sure you can upgrade for the difference even if you are on free DDP

Disney won't charge you as long as you are spending more money

They will charge you the difference between the 2 plans - you won't get upgraded for free. But, you probably won't have to pay the "change fee" for altering your reservation within 45 days of arrival.

Thanks I am sorry I know it is not free it is 32.00 extra a night,but you did answer my question I should have been a bit more clear,previous poster that's what I needed to know the change fee, dont want to have to payfor that ,do you guys think it is to much food on this plan? I love to eat although I really should be eating as less as possible but hey that's another story,It is my first time at WDW and I just want to eat and try everything, I am a bit stuck,then I just read about the bounceback it will cost me $190 something to upgrade,I could save the calories and put that money on my bounceback trip,I have thought about just paying OOP for the three character breakfast and one extra dinner, I dont have to pay for my son he is only 2,what should I do?Thanks

If you already have the character meals planned I would definately upgrade to deluxe dining. No point in paying $30-35 per meal when you can get the deluxe dine for $32 and get an extra meal, an extra snack, and a drink mug.

Remember just because you have 3 meal credits per night doesnt mean you have to eat 3 meals. You can use 2 credits and do a dinner show like Hoop De Doo or Spirit of Aloha or eat at Cinderellas Royal Table or eat at a signature restaurant like Narcoosses or Citricos, etc, etc.
